Watched a compilation video today on Facebook of his free kicks. Was amazing how getting a free kick thirty yards or less wasnt far off like getting a penalty , he was that good at them.

Dont expect anything from free kicks now.

    Brilliant player.

    Best free-kick taker I've seen.

He had a lot of doubters in his time here. I always rated him though and it seems most people do now that he's gone. But is it a case of forgetting his bad points or people not realising what he was until he left?

I remember a distinct feeling of sadness in '09 because I knew that we were soon to lose a very special and gifted player. The way he played football cannot be duplicated, I think. Sure he is not a Celtic great like Larsson, but I don't think we'll be quick to forget him, either.

Will never forget that free kick vs united in the champions league, was watching with a mate of mine (diehard united fan) and I remember him saying "he'll never get this, way too far out" when naka was lining it up. Needless to say I went ballistic when it flew in, then that penalty save was the icing on the cake :celt_2:

He got so much * on this forum was always defending him back then was a complete class act. Played out of position his entire time here but still was quality. His free kicks were like a penalty for us!

Unbelievable player. Free-kick taking aside - as we all know how exceptional he was at that - his ball retention was superb, very rarely gave away the ball and was vital in Europe when we were under the cosh.

Also his wing-play and crossing, used to tie full-backs in knots before delivering inch-perfect crosses more often than not.

A lot of people were still taking the 'but he doesn't get stuck in' view with Naka. He was a great player to watch and technically every bit as good as Lubo imo.

He wasn't as good as Lubo and it's a disservice to compare them I think, Naka was phenomenal in his own right.

Can mind after about 4 years here he won a header, think it was againsg Dundee United, fall crowd went mental like we'd just scored. He lookrd bewildered :56:

    Guy was a genius.

We didn't really appreciate what we had until he was gone.. Well I didn't anyway. Loved the guy when he was here but he really was a class act.

Ah Nakamura. What a player. Superb.

Shame we'll probably never get a player with his free kick ability ever again.

It was always strange how he couldn't hit a penalty though! :56:

Technically (touch etc) the best Celtic player this century?

    * check the crowds at league games from the SPFL video they posted fs. Full at Kilmarnock at home.

Outwith Larsson my favourite ever player during my time. (I'm 23).

    Lubo.

What Naka could do with his left, Lubo could do with both feet.
