If Wigan were to go down this year, would love to see him back here. Him and Forrest on the wings would be immense. Thoughts...

I'm not sure he'd want to go back, since he's been twice before etc.

    Anyway, Wigan aren't going down.

He would have his pick of teams in the EPL.

How the * has he been far better in the Prem than he ever was in the SPL? Literally every time I see him or hear his name he's either scoring, assisting, getting MOTM or generally playing well. Every single time, whereas he was a bit-part player here, capable of occasional flashes of brilliance but nothing consistently great.

He's genuinely been one of the best midfielders in England the last 18 months, him in that kind of form along with Commons, Sammy & Forrest in Europe would have been deadly for us!

If Wigan go down he will get another EPL team. That said I think Wigan might just manage to stay up.

Don't think it would completely be out the question if they went down,I'd be hoping we would go for McCarthy although even relegated he'd be out our price range now and would go to a top half epl side....

How we missed that guy I'll never know!!:31:....

Back on topic though yes I would have Maloney back been one of the best players in the league this year

Don't know about bit part player, he won the player of the year up here so to say he was consistent is a bit harsh on him. I have always rated him, in my opinion he was the superior and far more effective player than McGeady. Far more intelligent on the ball. Having him back here for a third time would be great. What a player he would have been if it wasn't for all his injuries.

Better standard of football, better standard of footballpitches.

Players like Maloney will not prosper if they are playing against hatchet men and playing on spud fields every other week.

Think he's playing as well as l've ever seen him but he'd no doubt get injured in a pre season warm up if he resigned for us.

I want Wigan to go down.

Maloney will sign for Man Utd next season.

Always was a talented player, was just unlucky with injuries. Great to see him doing so well. Mentioned in the Premiership thread that ever time i see him play, the commentators rave about him.

If Wigan go down, I think there will be a few mid table clubs looking at him. Although, he seems to enjoy his football at Wigan, possible that he might stay

I wouldn't have him any where near the Celtic team again.

Was injured for a long while, before getting the POTY year then * off to the EPL first chance he got. he then came back when he couldn't hack it & sat on the treatment table again for long periods.

I constantly hear people tell Rogne to get to * with the amount of injuries he has had but Maloney was just as bad

Only if they can get him and Caldwell in a double deal.

Wouldn't want him anywhere near us tbh. Totally flatters to deceive and rarely put in a decent performance in our bigger games.

I'm a big fan of Maloney and he's been playing great this season for wigan.
Can't see him ever returning here though, if wigan get relegated i'm sure there will be loads of team in for him.

He has been absolute class for them this year, great player and wish he was still with us, seems to be getting better and better, I think it maybe took him a while to get his confidence back after his injuries but hes definatly at the top of his game just now.
