His contract with City runs out in 2020, doubt they'll release him on a free. They will probably try to move him on and recoup some of the money they spent on him next summer. We'll probably be offering City £4m for him and end up losing the bidding round to Birmingham or some mid-table English Championship *.

Sand dancer for me. Looked quality against say Ross County and Inverness but went missing often too and never really put in a shift defensively. Did well in a few European games but also looked like a little boy lost on numerous occasions. Whenever I see his name I think of the horrendous open goal miss as we contrived to lose to Warburton’s mess of a team.

One of many English players who peaked as a teen, had far far too much hype poured on him and will sadly never make it at the top level.

Would love it if we got him, but tbh I’ve never seen him being permanent a fixture here..

Never read so much * in my life..

Would love us to test the water's and try get him in January. Whether he would want to come, * knows, but his stock is quite low so why not. Clearly won't be staying at Girona..

Neither have I, but he's so far out of City now it's untrue and isn't even breaking in to a fairly decent Girona side who are City's feeder club..

It's more possible now than it maybe ever has been. Who knows though..

Never really understood the love for Paddy among most of our fans given that he contributed very little in the 2 and a half seasons he was here.

Not sure about that he was unplayable at times in BRs first season and last season injury and James Forrest having the season of his career kept him out..

It’s not a priority position for me tho, Morgan, Johnston, Arzani and Forrest all options wide..

Pure and utter pish. For a start, he scored at the Emptihad in the Champions League. Some of his skill and the goals he scored were sublime.

How you can tell someone has peaked, at the age of 21, is also some Mystic Meg *.

100% mate. He was one of our best in the first double treble season and a player with his technique and box opening passes was sorely missed in both legs against AEK.

Not sure how you can effectively write him off at the age of 21. Mahrez, a similar player to Roberts, was still playing in the French second tier at the age of 21. Given games, he'll flourish, I've no doubt about that. Would be great to see him do it at Celtic.

His miss vs Rangers certainly isn't the first thing I think of when I remember Paddy in a Celtic shirt.

Time will tell but I’d be willing to bet in 4/5 years he won’t be this world class player many fans seem to think he is.

21 may not be ancient but why is he wasting on the bench of a minor Spanish team when, for example 18 year old Jadon Sancho has just been called up by England?

Brendan Rodgers and Pep Guardiola know more than any of us about footy, especially attacking players, and they both decided Paddy wasn’t good enough for a first team spot. There’s reasons for this guys.

Not hating the kid, it’s just facts. He may well do a Vardy and spark into life in a few years but at this stage of his career He’s essentially a younger, fitter Paddy McCourt.

Probably credit to his ability that a guy who scored the goal to draw with one of the most financially rich teams in England, managed by Pep Guardiola, away from home, at the highest level of Europe contributed very little.

Or if thats not enough or how about scoring and being one of the biggest reasons we got our second ever Champions League away win?

And that’s just off the top of my head there but just think about those two examples, and then think about playing Red Bull Salzburg away from home, in the lesser competition and remember our players trying to play fitbaw.

None of these Paddy doubters said a thing negative about him when he was here.

    Fickle as *.

Most skilful player with a ball in a Celtic jersey over the last 10 years.

I’d go as far to say that he is one of the most enjoyable players I’ve seen for Celtic in my lifetime.

Got to laugh at people doubting his ability. If he returned here now he’d immediately be the most talented player at the club.

Yet to see anyone call him world class, either.
