I went to my first game in a long long time there against Hearts.

Needless to say I was * shocked at the state of our security.

The turnstyles were plagued with aseholes with no tickets trying trick paying fans into giving up their barcodes. It was * ridiculous to the point that some of them had to be threatened with violence after trying to jump into a turnstyle with a kid.

At our seats some * and his hideous girlfriend were moved off twice out of others' seats, the second time returning to threaten someone who rightly wanted to sit in the seat he had paid for. Stewards just stood there. They spent the entire 2nd half standing at the rails. Not one steward challenged them.

In addition to this I and my mates (12 of us) walked into CP with a backpack each. We weren't searched or even asked what was in the backpacks.

Anyone else think this is a problem?

Depends on the colour of the backpacks.

Stark contrast to an event here. Metal detectors, no backpacks, small purses for the women that need to be searched. Security and police patrolling the main concourse as well.

One time I walked into CP with a bag after I bought a jacket. No questions asked. Another time I got shouted at for holding an empty irn bru bottle and got told to go bin it. So it's a bit 50/50

Because if the cops or stewards challanged them and they kicked off there would be a video with the headline shocking policing at celtic park fans not criminals etc.. lol

It's a bit hit and miss. On several occasions I've walked in with a backpack unchallenged and on other occasions I've been made to turn out my scarf incase I'm concealing anything in it. I've also had a bottle of water taken off me. I've never seen any trouble at the turnstiles to see how the stewards would react but maybe that's because there's always a steward outside the turnstiles I go in.
I'm disappointed to hear the hideous couple were getting away with threatening people, even if the stewards weren't up to dealing with it you'd expect surrounding supporters to tell them where to go.

In all my time going to games I have never seen people trying to get barcodes off people at the turnstiles. Might be an isolated thing mate.

My experiences with security/stewards at the gate has always been fine. And on the rare occasion when someone had been in my seat I've just showed my ticket and moved them on myself as they are usually just in the wrong section.

Sounds like you've just had a * experience OP with all the bad luck going, sorry to hear that.

How do you trick someone to give up a barcode?

Every time I've been to CP this season there has been a steward inside the turnstiles and police outside.

There is stewards constantly at the exits and move you on if you linger at the stairs, rails.

12 of you went to the game and every single one of you took a backpack? Really?

In over 20 seasons at celtic park i have NEVER seen fans giving up their barcodes or harrasing other fans for tickets. You cannot jump the turnstyles it is impossible, squeeze through if the steward is distracted yes maybe.

No one would be allowed to stand at the rails if stewards didnt move them the police would. Celtic park is covered in CCTV and the match commander monitors everything if not trackside, if he is trackside his senior staff will along with celtic own security team.

There is no chance 12 of you walked into celtic park all with backpacks absolutley not a chance in * you did that if you where all together.

If you feel it is such an issue then contact Ronnie Hawthorn who i believe is head of celtic security or the stadium manager, but for me i think you might be making it more than what it was.

Season ticket since the age of 4 and never saw or heard anything like this. I mean 12 folk taking 12 backpacks is a tad strange to begin with..

Never seen folk trying to get other peoples barcodes, new on me. As for bags, mate I usually go to games with got into the Gladbach game with a backpack and never got searched, he even took the bag off his back expecting it would get searched at the turnstiles.
Though some turnstiles only have 2 or 3 stewards for sections and other parts have near a dozen.

I know we give out tickets to schools in the surrounding areas through the Celtic Foundation. Maybe the OP is a teacher at one of those schools and his 12 mates, were the pupils.

Just holds a grudge about having to wear a high viz vest at the game.
