Funny how people see things differently. He was good, but personally I thought he wasn't up to his own high standards. For me, there is no "as always" at 34. His body is different now. I genuinely think he should be rested.

Went through him a bit too easily at time's..

We can't seriously be expecting him to play most game's this season, surely?

Should've been left out of Estonia last week for starters..

Not looked slow at any point previously and then plays his 3rd game in 7 days at 34 and people are saying he looked a bit slow.

Surely that's not coincidence. We can't be using him like that this season. Needs rested at the weekend and I'm sure he'll be imperious on Wednesday.

He's definitely slower. To be expected at his age..

3 game's in a week only makes it more noticeable..

He's slower, but he's not actually slow (because he used to have superb acceleration). Last night, he did look a little slow though IMO and I think that's to be expected.

And this is the problem when you come up against decent side's who are able to get about him quickly when he's on the ball and when they're running at him. Get past Broony and you're in a dangerous position..

He isn't finished but it will definitely happen more this season....especially if he isn't used wisely..

He needs to be eased out this season as first choice. Fullbacks should be priority for us but i hope we're still interested in a CDM.

Problem is, Motherwell away can be a tricky enough game for us and physical too. I know we rested a couple but would have been better to have sat out St J game.

We have enough in midfield to rest Brown against Motherwell. I recall last season when both Brown and Cham were out the team due to injury, we actually played better.

Either way, Nir, Calmac, Cham, Christie and I’m sure we could have Hendo & Luca on the bench to come on if things go well. If not, Brown can come off the bench.

We need to manage that area of the pitch early to avoid burn out.

    I'd leave him out Saturday..

Gear up for the Cluj second leg next week and then would rest most of our first team for Dunfermline with (hopefully) Prague in mind..

He was better in the second half when the tempo dropped. First half the game passed him by completely. McGregor was almost the same. Didn't help they were throwing long balls behind our midfield most of the game though.

We do urgently need to look for someone to take over his role though. This is the season for it because next season he really will need to be playing as little as possible I think.

He’s gonna be a big miss in that dressing that’s for sure.

I thought he did well too, thought he was only one of the very few that turned up.

I think when we have less of the ball he's left to do it on his own, the likes of Bitton and CM are as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike from a defensive point, they're all about being on the ball. That's why we need another ball winner.

Brown will manage us one day. Hes just got something more about him than the usual player. Can see him leading us to 20 in a row.

The way our club uses its senior professional players is really beginning to alarm me.

Initially it was KT, then Calmac was supposedly the most used outfield player in Europe.

Brooney and Jamie F have also been chronically overused across the past 2-3 seasons.

Our squad should be big enough, to rotate players without a drop in quality on the pitch and results.

Continuing to play these guys at the rate we do, must surely lead to burn out, over use injuries and drop off in turns of quality of performance.
