    CELTIC could move for Rostov star Sardar Azmoun — if Moussa Dembele leaves.

    Hoops chiefs are braced for big-money bids for top scorer Dembele, with AC Milan leading the chase.

    SunSport understands that Iranian star Azmoun, 22, is a potential replacement after an impressive season for Russian side Rostov.

    Azmoun was scouted by Celts gaffer Brendan Rodgers when he was Liverpool boss, and is attracting interest from across Europe.

    Azmoun scored 12 goals last season, including strikes against Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

    Dubbed the ‘Iranian Ibrahimovic’, he has a year left on his contract and is also being tracked by Everton, Villarreal, Lazio and several Russian teams.

    But Azmoun recently vowed not to go anywhere unless he’s guaranteed first-team football, after rejecting fresh interest from Liverpool in January.

    Azmoun said: “I did not feel the time to move was right. I would have ended up playing a few games for Liverpool, and then spending a great deal of time on the bench.

    “I want to go to a big club and to develop as a player, but I need to be serious about choosing the right moment to go.

    “I am sure I will move to a top European club in the future.”

    Regurgitating a story I reckon.

    He was muted as a potential replacement back in January. Good player, watched him when they played Ajax, Bayern and Atletico. Gave Bayern a torrid time.

    dont know anything about him apart from what that article says.formally scouted by rodgers,young striker with champs league goals against two world class defences.impressive.

    big iranian as well,would imagine it would be good exposure for us iran has 79 million citizens.

    he looks like one of those players that you can imagine playing for an ac milan or juventus in the future or the epl.

    seems to have all the attributes to do well in the game.be good if we sign him.even if dembele staying.

    I don't think we can afford to * around with this.

    The board should approach this as if Dembele has already gone and therefore push out the boat to get him.

    Even if the Mouss stays, you can never have too many good players.
