Reading how bad that injury was... Was there even a yellow, I forget. From memory it was beyond badly timed.

All credit to him coming through that. Psychological trauma is often worse than the physical.

He’s become such an important player for us and his energy is infectious. Thought he was a stand out tonight.

Another class game from a class player. Great to have him at Celtic.

Absolutely, I said that when he was barely getting a look in the first team, that he was as hard a worker as I'd seen. Was great to see him come back from Aberdeen with consistent quality performances added to his work rate. Some really bad luck with injuries but if he's fit hes always a starter.

RYAN CHRISTIE is convinced Neil Lennon is the perfect gaffer to get the best out of him.

The Celtic midfielder impressed in the No10 role against FK Sarajevo.

Lennon has told Christie that’s where he will play and the Scotland star is relishing the prospect.

He said: “The position I played against Sarajevo, the No10, I love it.

The gaffer says he sees me in there, that’s music to my ears. He wants me to deal with that pressure.

“The gaffer is brilliant for all the attacking players in the squad, especially for me.

He wants us to play attacking football. I love playing in that position.

“He’s big on getting the ball to me, Odsonne Edouard and the two wingers. It suits me down to the ground.

The target is to kick on. I want to stay in the team week in, week out.

“I need to put in big performances, score goals and create goals.”

Christie made his return to competitive action in Bosnia after his horror face injury in April.

He needed an operation after being injured against Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup Final.

But the 24-year-old looked like he’d never been away as he produced an all-action display.

He said: “It was amazing to get back on the pitch. It’s been a long time and it has been frustrating with injuries.

“Touch wood I’m back in for the long run now and can really kick on.

Since I came back for pre-season I was desperate to get going again.

“When I found out I was starting against Sarajevo I was absolutely buzzing.

    “We’re delighted to get a win but I’m frustrated I couldn’t get a goal.

“I had a few shots but didn’t really catch them.

    There are definitely positives though.

“In the second half especially the legs took over and they tired a lot.

“We’re happy, but you can’t say the tie is over. We’re confident going to Celtic Park.”

    Love Christie's attitude.

No ego, no poor me's about his injury, no expectations of a starting spot, straight back in and champing at the bit to get back in the team.

    He’s a lot better as an 8.

I think it depends. Hes good as an 8 and maybe doesnt quite have the finesse as a Rogic but he could play the 10 in the same way Johansen did so effectively, chasing down, breaking lines. He's a goal threat

Must admit I had my doubts about him, and thought the loan to the sheep was maybe a sign he was gonna be sold. Very very happy to be proven wrong, the loan did him the world of good, and his energy and desire to get into dangerous areas made a huge difference to our attacking play last year.

Genuinely think he was the difference for us when we were stagnating last season, not to say he single handedly won us the league, but considering our summer business was awful, he really freshened up our team when it was badly needed.

Undroppable now, even in the 10 role, which is exceptional considering how good Rogic has been for us in there.

Christie completely saved his Celtic career and helped massively in shaking off a malaise around the team at the time in general by being the all action marauding modern day centre mid.

He has the ability to play behind the striker but for me, he’s at his absolute best going box to box.

Absolutely agree. He'd be top class if he could mould himself into a better ball winner.

I thought he was done when he came back from the sheep.....we all did..

He's been a revelation though. Filled out and added an aggressive side to his game that no many of us saw or thought he was capable of..

We can never ever have enough player's like the wee man. No big time Charlie's as @Seán Mac D rightly alluded too and will give everything for the jersey. As a fan that is something that shames the likes of Ntcham, where this club means nothing to them. Christie won't go mental trying to get sent off or spitting the dummy out......he's just glad to be here but more importantly, deserves to be..

I prefer him as an 8 myself, particularly after last season but pressing from the front he may be perfect for us. Also his willingness to go beyond the striker was evident from the 8 so as a 10 I imagine he'll be more of a support in an area our main man last season was at time's isolated..

If we get a Sawyers type in next to McGregor for example, or a powerful runner/box to box and Christie just ahead.....then that is a really technically sound and creative midfield with energy..

Can't praise him enough. There for all to see how much of a supporter he is the way he comes back from a couple of serious but different type injuries and straight back at it..

    Big season coming up..

If he plays deeper you get the full benefit of his uncanny knack of intercepting a pass or stealing a ball off a napping opponent
