The nature of the performance was a little concerning. It was a bit reminiscent of the flat, insipid draws of last season. I hope we can get that out of our system or at least keep it to a minimum. Now I don't know much about AEK but I'm pretty sure if we repeat a performance like that against them, in even one of the legs, it won't go unpunished.

They’ve lost there top scorer and only won the league last season due to PAOL’s chairman ran onto the pitch with a gun.

Only managed to catch the 2nd half. Had a nightmare with premier sports.

From what I seen though I don't get the negative reactions. Sure, we didn't look great but we had a job to do and they got it done.

I think once we have 2 fit strikers we will go with 2 up top again which will make us a real handful too. Everyone we play seems to mark Sinclair off the park. Having two strikers with Forrest the other side might see Sinclair getting back to his best too.

No worries mate, if you're pleased with that kind of performance then fair enough.

Its not home/away form though, since we beat Anderlecht away then forgot how to play football when it came to the home tie.

Actually agree with this, for the most part, in regards to the defence.

I think we have taken far too long to get improvement at the back. Anytime we have tried to, recruitment has been poor.

We are through for now and I'm not arsed about the performance as we will improve, but the shape of the side and lack of depth in some areas is concerning me big time and will without doubt see us skudded again if we don't try and alter it somehow.

    We need to learn.

I think I definitely came across as a moody wee * last night :giggle1:

Was a poor performance but at least we're through. I'm sure we'll be much improved against AEK. We'll need a lead going over there.

I get last night wasn't an easy watch at times. First to admit that. It's understandable that some supporters would be looking for something a bit more at times. Attack wise wasn't there last night. Maybe Rodgers was going in for game management with subs etc. Giving guys like Lustig, Rogic a bit of game time. Played defensively maybe over cautious but I suppose objective was reached but wasn't a great watch.

the main objective is getting through to the next round, players are not robots we can't play well every game.

Not sure it was a bad attitude. I'm not sure we quite knew how to approach the game and we were a bit disjointed because of it. Second half we managed the game a lot better and set the pace instead of Rosenborg making us play to their tempo.

End of the day Rosenborg needed goals and had more impetus as a result.

3rd competitive game of the season though, onwards and upwards.

Not just that either. Having Gamboa in there means KT has to do the Lustig role and sit back and tuck in to make a back three while Gamboa gets forward. James Forrest then has to come inside a bit to allow for the overlapping FB and that takes something away from his game too.

Gamboa is decent enough cover but he definitely isn't the answer.

I want to wish you good luck against AEK in the next round. I thought Rosenborg did quite well on the night considering the players we have these days. The first half looked quite good for us, but I guess Celtic was playing on the result. Even though Rosenborg were the better team in the first half Celtic came out much stronger for the second. A goal for us would have set the tie on fire. But again I think Celtic had more in the tank if needed. But you never know when nerves kick in and all that. But enough of if's and but's. Over two games you were clearly the better team.

I remember teams used to target Tierney & Biton would drop in beside him. Did you want Tierney dropped for that reason?
