We will wait until the English transfer deadline has passed and make a move for a RB with what’s left on the market

Really don't buy into that excuse at all.

Whether team's have started their preseason or not, they'll have an idea about what players they are open to receiving offers for. Secondly, players don't switch themselves off from the world while they are on holiday, they have agents who do most of the negotiating on their behalf.

You can’t sign a player that’s on holiday, there are medicals to be done and they have to actually meet Lennon and talk about their place in the club that * can’t be done over the phone.

Why would we not have the rest of our signings done if we could ? There’s no reason Lennon would give an excuse like that if it wasn’t the truth, he’s the one that runs the risk of losing his job if we go out of Europe. We’ve been constantly linked with players over the last few weeks, if we could have everyone we wanted signed tomorrow it’d be done.

Whether or not teams know what players they would be willing to sell for the right price is irrelevant anyway because those players still have to be replaced and if there’s nobody back at the club to work on doing that they aren’t going to just let their players go. It’s not the worst players on these teams we are trying to buy.

Didn’t we sign Big Chris while he was on holiday away from his club?

I’m sure the ball was rolling while he was in New York.

    Edit-

It’s not that hard to get a player back from holiday, medical and then signed. Plenty of teams have signed players who have not been back at pre season all summer.

Connell was at the stadium the day before we signed him, jullien met with club reps in Paris before we signed him.

    Exactly.

We are just using it as an excuse for not getting anyone else in yet.

Most other clubs are back now so they’ll need to find another excuse unless we actually get more players in soon

You claimed we can’t sign players who are on holiday though, Jullien was and I’m sure Connell was as well.

To say we can’t sign players because they are on holiday is a poor excuse. Like I said before plenty of teams signed players who where on holiday since the transfer window opened and when it was closed as well.

Connell wasn’t on holiday obviously because he was photographed at the stadium before he signed and Bolton released a statement saying he requested his release. He went straight to Austria to join the camp the next day.

Blochairn just said jullien went to visit the stadium then met with Lennon after his holiday.

No club is signing a player whilst he’s on holiday, there are medicals to do for fucksake.

For me being on holiday is not at their club doing ore season training.

Maybe we have got our wires crossed, are you meaning they are actually away on holiday possibly?

Even so Jullien found out of our interest while on holiday, he stated this in his interview, then came back from New York and still not back in pre season training and had his medical, even on his Instagram he was saying about a long day and then signed.

Like I said we can sign players when they are on holiday/not back in pre season training.

Plenty of clubs have signed players who where still on leave this summer. I think it’s a weak excuse myself.

If we’re * about for a few hundred thousand and he ends up elsewhere because of it, we’ll regret it. As usual.

West Bromwich Albion are looking to pursue a move for highly rated Brentford midfielder Romaine Sawyers according to journalist John Percy from The Telegraph.

Sawyers had a string of impressive performances for the Bees last season and the Baggies are now looking to make a bid of around £3million for the midfielder.

Leeds United and Celtic have also been in the market for Sawyers but West Brom are now looking to beat them to the signing of the 27-year-old.

Slaven Bilic is keen to make Sawyers his fourth summer signing following the acquisitions of Filip Krovinovic, Kenneth Zohore and Semi Ajayi.

Sawyers is believed to be valued at around £3million which be a real coup for the Championship club with plenty of competition for his signature this transfer window.

West Brom could have the edge over their Championship rivals due to Sawyers’ previous time at the club as he came through the academy at the Hawthorns.

Sawyers came through the ranks at Albion and is still highly thought of by a number of people at the club. He left for Walsall in 2013 after failing to make a first team appearance.

is believed that a deal could make significant progress in the coming days with West Brom looking to make a number of additions before the Championship season starts in less than two weeks.

With the departures of James Morrison and Gareth Barry, West Brom are looking to add fresh faces to their midfield. They are preferring to bring more youth to their squad and Sawyers would bring the perfect balance of experience whilst still being in the prime of his career.

Dont want to miss out on sawyers but I'd prefer cifuentes. For the same amount of money he has more resale value and will give our midfield more energy in my opinion
