He needs a dog collar round his neck and a pool ball strapped in his mouth to complete the suit.....

That's what I meant, the new one looks * compared to the original :50:

I've heard a few articles say that the new suit will probably look a bit different once they apply lighting and CG to the final film and it will look more robotic, those pics are just camera snaps from the film set with no editing involved.

    Ahh ok gotcha :52:

The thing is, they didn't have to do any CGI with Robocop's look in the original film so makes you think why they would need to rely on CGI for the remake movie. I mean surely if the crew from the original could make Robocop LOOK like a robot then the crew could be able to do that for the remake.

I suppose we'll just have to wait and see.

And I think if it's still aiming for a PG-13 (12A? for UK) rating then that will probably ruin it as well because they seem to be aiming for a "superhero" kind of character.

Very few films back in those days (if any) used CGI, it just wasn't realistic enough, films always used suits and scale models or full size models. Today CGI is easier and a lot cheaper than building multiple suits and models and a lot less time consuming not to mention if done well, very realistic. You would be hard pressed to find a big budget film these days which doesn't use some form of CGI, especially for lighting effects.

It seems so, making any film PG-13 is basically saying "we want it accessible to as many people as possible to make as much money as possible" I think MGM are treating RoboCop as a money making franchise rather than what the original film was. RoboCop 3 was PG-13 and it was utter *, it flopped and I really don't see this one doing anything other than that. I think your "superhero" statement is spot on, superhero films have come back in a huge way mainly thanks to Nolan's Batman trilogy and the Iron Man films, it's a bit like when all the rage a few years back was Adam Sandler and Ben Stiller comedy films, film companies got hold of the IP's of several old TV shows (Dukes of Hazzard, Starsky and Hutch) and tried to make that style of comedy films out of them. I think they're doing the same thing to RoboCop with the in thing superhero genre.

Official RoboCop concept art reveals different RoboCop suit from the one used in the film shots. Rumours are that both suits are to be used in the film. This one looks a lot closer to the original

I'd be more excited about it if it was going to be R rated...
