Remember... although Mowbray was the worst manager in our history, we still only finished 6 points behind the Vermin.

And given that we were cheated out of at least two derby games, we could easily have won that league.

The Huns were nothing special. I can’t remember the last time the Vermin actually won the league, as opposed to us giving it to them.

You’d be looking back into the Advocaat era.

There was too much pressure on him when he arrived to go out and win the league for us by himself. He is a cracking player, as proven many times, but he is not a one man army and the rest of the players around him were duds.

It takes a team effort to win any trophy, unless you're Maradona. And we all know there is only one of those.

The best player Scotland seen since Larsson, he would have got 35+ a season in full seasons.

I would say Sutton and Hartson were the best since Larsson :icon_mrgreen:

Imo Keane was better than Hartson but probably not Sutton however Sutton was at his best with Larsson. Keane was better than 2005/2006 Sutton although 2001/2002/2003/2004 Sutton was better.

I agree there actually, although if you asked me just now would I want Robbie Keane at his best or Hartson at his best the answer would be John Hartson. What a target man.

Completely different players though. Both excellent.

Aye its a Hartson we need in this team. Hartson and Keane would have been some pairing too not far off Larsson and Sutton.

Loved his time here. Gave the club a good big boo(s)t and we've felt the echoes since then. Now, if only we'd * quit gifting the Huns points and add a little silverware. :31:

Well at least it kept the celtic mined fans happy for a short while but the money could have been better spent.
Great player but at celtic to short a time to change anything.

I always felt that Robbie was his own worst enemy in a way. The only thing he has lacked in his career was a sense of loyalty to a particular club. Not neccessarily Celtic, it could have been any of the clubs he played for.
He could have easily been a Celtic legend, a West Ham legend, a Coventry legend, maybe even an Inter legend had he stuck at it somewhere. OK, he was at Spurs for a while but there are other teams out there where he could have achieved Larsson-like status. Shame, cause he's a wonderful footballer.

If any player sums up the word plastic, it's Robbie Keane.

"I have always wanted to play here"

Agree about the offside issue, felt bad for him sometimes he was being penalised for being too good.

Well he did support Liverpool and Celtic, so he probably did dream of playing here so whats plastic about that?

Why do people call Robbie Keane a mercenary?

Was he supposed to pay his own transfer fee to Celtic, despite no evidence of us having any interest in buying him permanently after his loan ended?

Also the myth that he claims to support every club he joins? He has said that as a kid he supported Liverpool and Celtic, nothing else.

I have no time for anyone who calls Keane a mercenary or a money-grabber. He has always left a club if he's not getting playing time, he has always been there for his country and has been a fantastic captain for them.

He is a money grabber. If he loved Celtic as much as he said he would have played for a reasonable fee.

I loved watching him in the hoops though, his movement was unreal.

What does that mean? How do you know we even tried to buy him?

I meant his wages. £65 grand a week to play in the SPL is a joke.

Pretty sure that on a loan deal your full wages have to be met, either by one of the clubs or both of them? Not that he should be expected to take a wage-cut.

Firstly we don't know for sure that those were his wages, secondly we don't know how much of that Spurs were paying, and thirdly that may well have been a decent pay cut for him.
