    It’s just a very Scottish thing to believe as he was Scottish, didn’t move from Scotland and didn’t win a European/International honour that he couldn’t be considered as World Class..

    I’d say both he and Danny McGrain could be considered World Class.. but tbh it’s just a term..

    In my time as a Celtic fan? Larsson and Boruc (for a period).

    Despite being Lubo’s biggest fan the issue with calling him world class is the fact we got him so late in his career. However, having watched him when Marseille (the champions of Europe) wanted him I would say he was 100% world class at points.

    I think Sampdoria were after him at one time???

    Was he world class?? No. My own opinion was he could have gone up a couple of levels if he had left us because he was surrounded by mediocrity, at best, for most of his career

    Was he underrated. I believe so.

    On his day he was the best goalkeeper ever to wear a Celtic jersey.

    Could have played in any team in the world, aye.

    When Zidane says it's his idol.....that's good enough for me..

    Seeing him as an old man winding down in the flesh against some of the cream of Europe, only strengthens it..

    Never seen Danny McGrain but have seen and heard enough to know he’s in that bracket. Just before my time though.

    That's not even coming into the equation, JC, the fact he stayed with us and never played in other country isn't the reason why I don't rate him as world class, I judging him on how I remember seeing him play when I stood watching him at Parkhead .....he was a great player but even when he had an average game, the press hyped his performance up imo

    I don't buy the hype I'm afraid.

    Then again.....you found it fit to explain the offside rule to me in the form of shoes and purses :eek:

    Boruc was world class, he was rated at one point as the 3rd best goalie in the world when he was with us.
