    Travelling alone is when I'll do it, and I quite enjoy it. Always end up having a blether and exchanging stories.

    Totally different to being at home though, different atmosphere.

    Its grand, people do it without batting an eyelid when theyre travelling or on holiday but feel weird when at home.

    Was only a few months ago my local that does really good food, wanted some but felt weird going by myself, said * it went sat at the bar had me lunch and 2 or 3 pints, you get talking to people and it becomes the most normal thing in the world.

    I did notice in England that it’s far rarer for people to actually chat to you in a pub. I felt a bit weird making conversation with lads, whereas in Ireland or Scotland people are a lot chattier and there’s less suspicion :giggle1:

    I’m up in Donegal with the moth she was gone out so I wanted to go for pints...Only know one or two people up here all my mates live in Dublin or Kildare I ended up not going, all though up here for the weekend so might go watch the rugby tomorrow...Last time I was up here Ireland were playing Wales in the footbal went with the moth to the pub and met some lad that was drinking on his own and ended up getting locked with him and didn’t think he was Weird at all tbh :)

    aye in glasgow or ireland people will will usually talk to anyone, why be scared to go to a pub on your own? you want to go out for a drink on your own just go or stay at home to grow a pair

    As mentioned I usually end up taking to someone I know or a random...becomes less of an issue as you get older.

    Did you do it over here?

    Pubs are different over here I reckon, don't have the same feel a local back home does. Especially the TAB pubs, absolute fear.

    Get it when you're in a town environment, in an area you know well and know the local clientele.

    My wife doesn't drink and we have a 4 year old girl so I'll be out for a drink on my own a good few times
