Kouassi gets more and more overrated the less time he spends on a pitch

Yes he does, the guy has played a handful of games for us and people are touting him as browns replacement, not like he was a proven player before he came to Celtic either

Who has suggested that he is Brown’s replacement?

He is a good player, and an exciting prospect, and his performances have merited more game time than he has been given.

It was McGinn who was earmarked as Brown’s successor before he opted to join an English Championship club over Celtic.

Brendan said Kouassi would eventually take over from Broony, I’m sure mate. Might be misquoting him though.

Celtic literally * about for months with the transfer. On this occasion it's the clubs fault he didn't sign

Matching there offer and wages and 4 bids isn't enough? Sorry if celtic matched a wage offered to me by an English team I would choose celtic. * him.

We had two bids rejected before Villa had even spoke to Hibs and McGinn. We took too long to come back with a 3rd offer. It's not as black as white as you're making it out to be

Certainly wouldn't be the first time Celtic * over Celtic-supporting players and staff over the years, which they HAVE done on plenty of occasions...

Aye at the last minute after he was already down at villa for his medical

Put yourself in his shoes, both Hibs and st Mirren stood to benefit from his sale. Say what you like about him supporting ourselves, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have feelings or respect for them clubs that allowed him to showcase his talents and develop him as a player and person.

Maybe the fact we were angling to get him on the cheap or indeed free didn’t sit well with him as a person. I would be the same personally.

Not only that it would also consider himself unwanted by the club to a certain degree, we can’t get away from the fact if we REALLY wanted him we would have signed him last month for around 3-3.5m. I know that 750k more than it cost villa but that would likely been the figure to get OUR manager the player he wanted.

I always had great respect for petrov signing a new deal just before he left. It meant we got maximum value for him. Maybe Mcginn wanted to ‘look after Hibs and stmirren as gratitude to helping him become the national player he is today and it hurt him that Celtic only matched villas offer because the felt they had too to appease Brendan.

Should change the name of this thread to Pedro Chirivella/John McGinn.

Nobody is overrating him, people with sense are looking at us being linked with defensive minded midfielders every window since he has joined.

we're not spending time or money buying the type of players we need and to make it worse the other players we're spending time on aren't even signing. Transfers are a shambles.

He has been touted by many on here as browns replacement despite having hardly kick a baw for Celtic, not for a second saying he's a bad player just that he is overrated.

On the John McGinn comment, I don't for a second believe he opted for a championship club over Celtic. He was * about all summer by Pistol Pete not paying the money and a team come in for him, pay the money and impress him, I know the boy personally and he's not some money grabbing * he's been made out to be by sections of our support

Tbh I'd say the Kouassi signing is a shambles, he's obviously not rated highly enough, you don't spend that kind of money on a player and don't give him game time unless there's a reason for it

Got a mention in the Mirror we are looking him. Maybe our next target after McGinn. 3.5 million and BR brought him to Liverpool.
