    Hopefully they’re right for once.
Although Neil said he was going away & as far as I’m aware hasn’t accepted the post yet, has he?
Which leaves PL in charge of transfers or JK ?:fear:

It's called having perspective, you're saying Forrest would do better in the La Liga yet he couldn't get past a 16 year old who has played in 3 games in his professional career- not to mention Forrest was rested for the final and the young lad played 97 minutes the week before. Again I give him credit for the great season he has had, however he needs someone here to challenge him otherwise standards slip.

Yes I compared their goals from open play because you can't add Sinclairs 13 goals from the penalty spot when Roberts has taken 0 penalties for us
Also it's all their open play goals I added, cups included.

    Penalties converted by Sinclair:
    1. earned by himself
    2. Griffiths
    3. Aitchison (greedy to take being 3-0 up in 91st min)
    4. himself- one of his best Celtic performances ever
    5. Griffiths
    6. Roberts
    7. himself
    8. Mcgregor ( bit of a dive :fear:)
    9. himself
    10. Christie
    11. Lustig
    12. Forrest
    13. himself

    Missed:
    1. Gamboa
    2. sheep handball
    3. Izaguirre of all people

5/18 penalties earned by himself, so yeh it's pretty unfair to compare their goal scoring records in full when Paddy has taken 0 pens for us

That will be current sfwa & spfa player of the year James Forest you’re on about, obviously had a lot better games than the one you’re picking out.
I do honestly do believe he would have done better at Girona, he did better here though.

I don’t give a * about limiting their tally to open play, headers or back heels etc. I just count them all, same as the statisticians & bookies.

Jimmy forrest = top class player
    Paddy Roberts= top class player.
Don’t see why people are comparing when they would be different class playing together in the same starting 11.

Not sure why anybody thinks we will sign Roberts. When he was here, he couldn't get in before Forrest. We also have Sinclar, Shved & Arzani

The same way benkovic can’t get in before Jozo or Ajer? He was a loan player so wouldn’t get as much game time as our own players. If Roberts signed he would be a starter.

Maybe i'm wrong but only one of the players mentioned is on loan. I really like Roberts but don't think he is getting in before Forrest. We have other areas to sort before bringing another winger in.

I don’t think he’s getting in before Forrest either.

He would be on the opposite wing as Forrest... In the same team. But aye it’s all hypothetical

I appreciate that it's not really a position that we need to improve but if he is available at that price it's too good an opportunity to pass up.

Forrest and Roberts are completely different players. Comparison is pointless.

We need to add more quality to the squad and at a price of 3-4m can't turn it down if we have the chance.

Sinclair and arzani play left, shved is more a 10 but can play right.

    Left mid

    Sinclair
    Arzani
    Johnstone

    No10

    Shved
    Rogic
    Henderson

    Right mid

    Roberts
    Forrest
    Dembele

So 2 automatic per position with a youth in all 3 positions as back up sorted!

However I do think Sinclair and Rogic could leave in summer with ntcham

Was all for snapping up Roberts if the deal was on, and part of me still is. But we'd then have both Forrest and Roberts who both seem to prefer playing wide right.

Until a couple of weeks ago it seemed like a great idea to have two very talented wingers with different styles competing for the same position, but now I'd be concerned that it would stifle young Dembele since it would be harder to get game time with those two in the squad.

Dembele is a baby still 16 as I said above having 3 youths in Dembele, Johnstone and Henderson behind 2 seasoned pros is ideal let them develop they will do fine.
