He's a far better player. Just meant Sterling has plenty of skill too but ain't got a clue how to use it :50:

Just seeing Sane scoring two great goals for City, with Sterling in the stands - Tough gig for Paddy at City.

Sanchez in Jan, more signings next summer, almost impossible.

Wonder if we'll have any chance of buying him. Could see City selling him to another PL team though.

Our best option is trying to bid whilst he's here and as early as possible. Over the next few month's hopefully and wrapping it up by January..

Don't know if it's possible but we should offer City some serious cash in Jan..

As the the better he does the harder it will be for us to secure him in the longterm.. in amongst City's Jan transfer window activity a serious bid of say £15m may be enough to get him..

City want will want huge money, I mean look at the money they got from BVB for the 17 y/o.

I honestly think Paddy will have finished his Celtic 'cycle' come next summer. 2.5 years at Celtic, in Scotland, we don't get much more than that from our top players.

Unfortunately agree, and I honestly totally understand it. He has already achieved everything, domestically at least. All that is left is Europe and a legacy and for a legacy he has to be here long term, which I really don't see.

Would * love to see us buy him and him and KT to be here for the next 10 years. Roberts, at this level, would become an all time great.

Only way I see him returning (again) is a Sinclair type scenario after a poor season(s) at the wrong club in England. And that is quite probable, Roberts despite his talent, is not the type of player mid-bottom EPL clubs go for.

Could see him tearing it up with Leicester should they lose mahrez next summer.

His life would far more enjoyable here though, if we could somehow get city and him to agree to a perm and he stays for another 3 years we'd have done well

I suggested him as a Mahrez replacement before, I get the comparison.

Even though I made the same comparison, not entirely convinced he is at that level yet. I think his CL exploits will go a long way to prove that this season, I hope he can, but if he does, it makes it impossible to keep him here.

Leicester is an apt suggestion, it's the likes of Stoke, West Brom, Bournmouth, Everton, West Ham that I don't see giving a Roberts type player a chance, wether he's capable or not. I think that's his level (in terms of his national league, the EPL), I don't see him at a top 6 club.

I agree best chance is January... maybe the only chance TBH. If not Celtic, I'd like to see him go to Germany.

In hindsight shouldn't have played, Forrest would have been more dangerous. Cause we were playing so deep Paddy doesn't have the pace or energy to carry the ball all the way up the park the way he had to like Sinclair managed on the other side so we were reduced to nothing on the right plus he doesn't defend well either, Forrest would have put in a better shift and been better on the break.

True, we were going to get gubbed anyway.

But it's quite * for Forrest. He got us there, he was more suited to playing this one game over the others as well. Bayern won't play with the same pace, they won't play as high up the pitch and they are not as dangerous in attack so we will see more of the ball and be more effective oursleves against them so i'd play Roberts against them. Same against Anderlecht Roberts must play.

Didn't get any support at all tonight. Every time he went forward he was up against 2 of the opposition with nowhere to go. Ralston was (understandably) reluctant to push too far forward for most of the night so made it difficult for Roberts.
