Think this move depends on how much the player wants to be here and if any team from England wants him. If he wants to join us then we could Easley get this deal done for around 2-3m if that, Chelsea don't need money and as said above sold McEachran for 750k when he was meant to be next best thing so Bamford going for * all wouldn't be a surprise. However, if an English team comes in then they will almost deffo throw around 5m+ for him, championship Poty and played a few times for palace last season even tho he was * but English clubs will pay excessive fees for a young English forward

Thing with McEachran is he never done anything of note during any of his loan moves.

As said above, although a couple years back, Bamford has proved he can cut it in the Championship, which is invaluable experience for teams in that division who sadly have the power to spend more than us.

Is there anything in this rumour at all? He'd be a fantastic signing imo. I reckon he's out of our price range though. He'll go for £6m-9m if I had to guess.

Won their YPOTY, to be fair. Not as good as winning the POTY for the entire league but he had a successful spell.

Bamford's most recent loans will severely hamper the fee Chelsea will get.

I'd say Swift had a good loan at Brentford. Dunno if he got any player of the year's but looked so good on the ball, and scored some crackers.... Remember one live away at Lenny's Bolton......just won the Euro's with England or some tournament anyway and was highly regarded down here..

    2 mill to Reading..

Brenda's maybe thinking, "What do we do if Griffiths gets injured?"

So a loan deal maybe takes that fear away.

He can play right or left wing as well.

Hopefully if Brendan gets him in he can convince him to switch his allegiances back to the ROI, so we can use him in the qualifiers. :icon_mrgreen:

Searched high and low and best I can tell is there's * all to this rumor. At best we're one of several clubs with some level of interest, English player so surely some championship club will push the boat out for him.

As first posted by Lucky7 http://readceltic.com/2016/07/25/celtic-verge-striker-signing/

Nottingham Post seem to be the first legitimate source around us being linked with him. Sounds promising that we'll apparently be front runners to sign him. Didn't seem like it was strictly a loan either, but we'll have to wait and see.

Fulham are gonna lose Ross Mac and apparently keen on taking Bamford as replacement, Id like this lad no doubt about it but I'm not fully sure if we have even bid or if its yet again media clutching at straws.

IMO the media has just linked us to anyone BR has worked with in the past who is not playing regular for their club.

What's with the full name in the thread title? Makes him sound like a name on a war memorial.

What? You're talking about professional journalists here and I can assure you the standards in the Scottish media for reporting football make the Guardian or the NY Times look like a rag. How dare you doubt their professionalism? Accusing them of such a lazy, dishonest practice is an insult to the integrity of people like Hugh Pulitzer Prize Keevins or Tam British Press Awards Journalist of the Year Cowan. :47:
