    He was vastly over rated, he broke up play and played the simple pass but he never had anything creative or anything skilful about him, he couldn't spray a 30 yard pass, play a through ball, shoot or beat a man.

    Some scoring record, especially at Fiorentina and Juventus, averaged almost 1 in 2 games back in a time when * struggled to get into double figures in Serie A, be lucky if 15 players per season managed to get 10 goals in the League and he steadily got about 15 a season for years back then I think AC Milan won the League in Italy in 1994 or somewhere abouts where they only scored 36 goals in 34 games or close to it :56: unthinkable now.

    Steven Gerrard .............. Certainly an above average player in terms of the Premier League, probably in the top 50 players to play in that league; but not world class, and not meriting the "* like" status that Liverpool fans give him.
