    Does anyone else patch the usual roast turkey, spuds, carrots etc for something different?

    My family are into the usual stuff but roast dinners do nothing for me so I'll make something myself.

    Have had duck pancakes in the past and even had Chinese one of the years:D

    Have it all ready to go to make spicy crispy chicken fajitas with pico de gallo I honestly cant wait to bite into all that on Christmas day.

    Mates da makes Beef Wellington every year, never tried that though.

    * heathens :47:

    baby jesus ate turkey, pigs n' blankets, roasties, sprouts and stuffing on his birthday..... so why can't yous.

    well obviously not on the day he was born. that would be stupid, but every birthday after that.
    i can just see baby jeezo shouting to the virgin mary, '' Oi maw, toss me over a turkey leg, i'm starving, could eat the * out of that lamb of * stoating about outside''

    Went to a different restaurant for around 10 years in a row. Chinese, Indian & Italian. Having the traditional turkey at home this year.

    Not bothered with either going out or staying in. You get people who go to an Indian & complain the turkey dinner isn't good :56:I always got a curry :36:

    We used to have a Chinese takeaway, bought the day before and reheated, this was done on the trot for about 10 years.

    Looking back, it's a wonder how we never got food poisoning! :56:

    Now though it's a proper Christmas dinner, turkey trimmings and the lot. End up eating the leftovers for a good few days afterwards!

    I think it's rice that's dangerous. It's a breeding ground for salmonella I think.
