For me (and this isn’t something new) he’s the next VVD in terms of folk will say ‘aye he’s world class now but he wisnae at Celtic’.

We all watch football and we all know what class players look like, we don’t need the media or ex pros to tell us. Edouard is going right to the top, he has more tools in his locker than Moussa and I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if he was not only Mbappe’s replacement at PSG some time down the line but also his partner for France.

Plenty more in him but his trajectory is only going one way.

He's just turned 22. His development rate has been quick and it's only going one way.

There is no doubt of his talent and potential, but his composure is hugely impressive especially for a young guy.

Watching him with a tinge of sadness right now as he's going right to the top and sadly I can't see us matching his ambition in Europe.

Surely knocking on the door for a full France cap in one of their friendlies

It's not always about money. If you have won 6 trophies and stand a good chance of getting more then you have probably done all you can at a club. 10 in a row won't mean a thing to him. He will want to win trophies in countries where it and he will get noticed, win European trophies. He also won't get picked for a full cap with France while at celtic

I dunno. Dembele is a class act too.

I think both are the future for France. They will both go right to the top. Different types of strikers but both are excelling at what they do and they're exciting to watch.

You could only imagine the damage that would've been done if Dembele didn't move on.

Might've said this already but I just love the way he can juggle a seemingly random bouncing ball at his feet, shows how quick witted and confident he is. That and his love of the whole opposition half, willingness to come looking for the ball to help set moves up is something that sets him apart I think.

Moussa is further on in his development but, for me, Eddy can do everything Moussa could do plus a bit more.

Eddy just needs to use what he has more often because there’s nothing he can’t do as a modern day lone striker; link up, strength, technique, vision, passing, heading, composure, finishing.

In 2 or 3 years I honestly believe he’ll be spoke about amongst the top echelon of strikers.

Just comparing stats between the 2 when with us.

    Moussa Dembele

Season 1 Played 49 scored 32 average 0.65 per game
Season 2 Played 39 scored 16 average 0.41 per game
Season 3 Played 6 scored 3 average 0.5 per game

Total Played 94 scored 51 average 0.54 per game

    Odsonne Edouard

Season 1 Played 29 scored 11 average 0.39 per game
Season 2 Played 52 scored 23 average 0.44 per game
Season 3 Played 34 scored 20 average 0.59 per game

Total Played 115 scored 54 average 0.47 per game.

However, there are a possible 29 games still to be played this season if Odsonne Edouard stays until summer. so his stats could easily improve.
And looking at the stats Moussa was less succesful after each season whereas Odsonne is improving with each season.
Comparing last season to this just for Edouard he has scored 20 goals so almost matching last season in 18 less matches.

In an ideal, Lawwell-less world, the club would try and get Edouard in a Larsson-esque contract, in an attempt to improve our European standing. There are clubs that try to hold onto their players more than we do. Dinamo Zagreb only sold Dani Olmo because they failed to stay in Europe this season- I get the vibe they would have decided to keep him otherwise.

Since the fat * is here, the best case scenario is Lennon managing to reach an agreement with Edouard and Desmond: Edouard stays until the 10IAR season ends. He can go for a lower price than he'd command in the summer of this year.

AS Monaco have this weekend had an approach from Scottish side Celtic rejected for 22-year-old French striker Odsonne Édouard, according to sources contacted by Get French Football News.

The Scottish side have no intention of letting the Frenchman depart this month, locked in a continuing battle with Rangers for the Scottish Premiership title this season.

Borussia Dortmund had been lining the player up several months ago for a January deal, but their focus quickly shifted when it became apparent that Erling Braut Haaland was on the market.

As for Édouard himself, sources tell us that the player also does not have any particular desire to leave Celtic this month as he wants to finish and see out the current campaign.

AS Monaco already came close to signing the ex-PSG player last summer.

Odsonne Edouard bid from Monaco reports are wrong
    [IMG]

Reports that Celtic have turned down a bid for star striker Odsonne Edouard, are wide of the mark.

The French frontman has been on fire for the Hoops this season and scored two goals in six minutes after being introduced as sub in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Ross County.

He’s also netted 10 goals for France U21s this season since making his debut back in the summer.

And now GetFootballNewsFrance say Ligue 1 side Monaco have had an initial bid rejected for the 22-year-old.

But Record Sport Online understands that the report in France aren’t true and Celtic have received no bid from Monaco.

No matter what wage we could pay, he'd still be off..

We won't see another like Larsson, in lots of different ways.

Literally nothing the board can do apart from cash in and get a decent sell on %

I still think if our Board is smart he will be here next season without doubt on an improved contract. We should give him the maximum wage possible. It would not be impossible for him to stay another 2 more seasons.
But if If does go,he will in no way go on the cheap,no way.
As we stand now he is a beyond vital player for us.

Time to face reality mate. He is one of Europe's top young strikers and he's given us 3 years service.

He will Treble his wage at another club and that's an amount that Lawwell would never sanction...and even if he did I'm not sure it would convince Eddie to stay.

He will see the likes of Tammy Abraham playing for Chelsea & Dembele being touted for Man Utd and think there's no reason he can't do that.

I'm sure he can think of plenty of reasons not to join Man Utd :eek1:

He's going to attract the best teams in the world, we should really think positive about it cause we're showing promising talent can flourish here and it's a unique selling point few clubs have.
