    What are Celtic going to do next summer for CL if he gets picked for France's Olympic squad as it will * up our team selection, assuming he is still here, for the qualifying round of the Champions League.
    If he is picked and France get to the final of the Olympic football tournament he will miss the 2nd and 3rd qualifying rounds of the CL

    It's a big if he is still here next summer. We need a striker in January. If Scotland make it through the play offs( unlikely I know) he wont be the only player missing for qualifiers

    It wouldn't bother UEFA as it isn't a UEFA sanctioned competition but not sure if it's a FIFA sanctioned comp.
    Supposedly, he wants to be at the Olympics.

    It isn't Fifa affiliated to the best of knowledge. It is u23 (born on or after 1/1/97) so dembele is too old unless he gets a spot as 1 of 3 over 23yrs players. Mbappe and Ikone would be available but if Eddy wants to go I think he will get a spot. I don't blame him, it will be a big thing thing to get him a spot in the senior team.

    Eddie has bags of potential and could very well go on to be one of the top strikers in European football. But how many times have we seen players fall by the wayside and fail to fulfil their potential?

    Whereas that young Defoe boy at the huns looks as though he's just going to get better and better. I can see that young lad being a top striker for many years to come.

    That is a genuine concern. I think there is no issue in terms of this January but for sure I think next summer we will need to be signing him to another 4 year deal of which I would think at that point we could reasonably expect him to stay for at least 1 more season.
