How was the calmac bid almost accepted?

Rodgers enquired at start of window he was told not for sale at any price.

Rodgers came back deadline day told situation hadn’t changed.

Player according to reports wanted to talk to Leicester Celtic said no player accepted it.

Every club bar Barca or Madrid are effectively a feeder club where every player is for sale these days.

If someone bids 25million for Edouard course he will go, just like any of club would sell him.

Football is a business these days, we're a very well ran business but a * joke of a football club these days.

Heard (not online, rather word of mouth and certainly not a "source") that lawwell was okay to accept, but it was Desmond who had to tell Rodgers to eventually * off.

It's a story I would like to be true as it sits nice with my dislike of both Rodgers and lawwell, so I'm biased in wanting that to be true.

If he keeps progressing the way he is it's inevitable he'll get some interest from teams in bigger leagues same as Dembele, his transfer and now KT has set a new bar for teams wanting to poach our best, so I really wouldn't be surprised if a 20-30m bid came in for him in the winter or next summer.

We are and I don't believe for a moment that we aren't a selling club, but any sensible club would be sensible not to sell all their high value players in one window...with lawwell and the drop out of champions League, I wouldn't put it past him to cash in every time

Was surprised we subbed Griffiths and kept him on today, never got into the game at all. They sat that far back and in that big a numbers every time he got on the ball he was surrounded and every time he tried a lay off there was guys challenging him, also offers no threat for tap ins or headers as hes never in the 6 yard box.

Playing him and Griffiths together just isn’t the answer.

Our best formation has been, and still is, 4231/433. This obsession with 2 up top from some people is strange.

The only way it works for me is for Eddy to be off the left wing.

If it’s a two up top, Eddy needs to play off a proper target man, a la Dembele.

WITH four goals in eight appearances to his name this season, Odsonne Edouard has given the Paradise faithful much to cheer about. The Frenchman’s signature song, as bestowed by the Hoops support, is a personalised slant on The Stone Roses’ 1991 hit single I Wanna Be Adored, and it appears Edouard himself is a fan.

Speaking to this week’s Celtic View, the 21-year-old forward said: “I hear the Celtic supporters singing the Stone Roses song with my name in place. I like it, and it drives me on when I’m on the pitch. It’s normally when I’ve played well, I’ve scored a goal or I’ve been close to scoring.”

Edouard admitted that while Manchester rock bands aren’t normally his cup of tea, he thoroughly enjoys hearing his song ring out from the stands.

He added: “The Stone Roses aren’t really my style of music, I’m more into rap music, so it’s not normally the kind of song I’d listen to in my own time. But I love listening to it during the game! Hearing the Celtic fans singing it makes me want to play well and work harder for them. That makes me smile.”

The times we have played 2 up top suggests not.

A partnership which doesn't work no matter how hard you try means less goals.

I honestly think if we lost Eddy we would be right up * creek. Forget about how much we could get for him, if Celtic want to win 9 in a row then we HAVE to keep him. Griffiths is a good striker but Eddy has something that lifts him above the level of any other striker in Scotland. He is a match winner and League winner, we cannot sell this guy.
