Did we need have an agreement in place to sign Eddy for 7 million as part of the loan agreement at the end of the loan?

Totally agree Eddie looks better with someone up top with him and Eddie coming in off the left.

 

Dembele just bullied defenders and could hold the ball in , Edouard playing off him , Dembele also could score all types of goals.
Now we only have Edouard who seems to need to use his pace , nothing sticks upfront, doesn't have strikers instinct in and around the box.

 

Yet he has scored more goals compared to Dembele at this stage last season, funny that.

 

He's not in the same class as Dembele from what i can see , we have left a gaping hole in the team again.

Another problem with Dembele going we don't have a penalty taker now either , rarely missed if at all.
now we have missed the last 3 Ntcham scored rebound , 3 different penalty takers.

 

He’s 21 in January.

Yeah still a young guy with a good future in front of him but not been convinced with him so far. Would say he’s been 20% hot, 80% cold. He will play good 1 in every 5 or so. Very inconsistent.

 

Wee man will know more than anyone how Celtic fans can hinder players growing up in the strip, not surprised he’s came out in defence of him.

Personally preferred Dembele as a player and think he will go on to be better, however some of the criticism of Edouard lately is just plain stupid.

He’s not the finished article by a long stretch but he’s playing for a massive club at the moment where he is the only available striker. At 20 (21?) that is a colossal responsibility. He has shown flashes of brilliance, hasn’t once hid in any game as a Celtic player and has shown significant signs of progression. Get off his * back.

 

People need some perspective with Eddy. He’s frustrating yes but we’ll miss him when he’s not here

 

That interview with Brendan makes the whole transfer window seem absurd.

It's either that some Celtic fans should be in charge of buying players or Dembele was sold from underneath BR.

A great wee player. The problem is we bought a diamond that needs to be polished and instead have shoved him in the cabinet expecting him to shine before we finish polishing. Dembele had EPL experience with Fullham, comparisons with him are unfair.
Remember how shocking Boyata was until he got more game experience? What these rich clubs like Man City and PSG do, buying up the best youth players and leaving them to rot is disgusting.

He's every bit the same class (albeit totally different players) as Dembele.

 

I think the biggest problem is that he is a LWF asked to play as our main striker.

Everything bounces off him and he doesn't have what it takes to be a classic number 9, he needs to play alongside a classic 9. I feel that, if we go out in January and get a seriously good striker, Eddy playing off him will rip the * out of any SPFL side. As long as the centre back situation is under control hahahaha...

 

There could be something in that, however he does have the tools to play lone striker. Unlike guys we know can't play lone striker in Europe (like Stokes or Griffiths*), he does often get to the ball ahead of the defender and sometimes shows amazing control. The problem is his decision making and that is down to inexperience.

* not dissing Griff, we all now that isn't his forte.
