Thought he was our worst player yesterday.

Just awful.

 

Very much like Ntcham and Dembele, when they're in the mood they will boss games. Yesterday I was getting * off at the lack of effort he was putting in.

Late on in the game we broke nicely, think we had a 4 v 3 situation, he received the ball and straight away lazily flicked a foot at it and gave it straight to the Livi player.

Then after that someone bombed down the left to the byeline (Tierney?) zipped a cross to the near post and Edouard is barely into a jog on the penalty spot.

I know people will say that young players are notoriously inconsistent but I've no time for players that decide on the day if they want to make an effort. i imagine given he's our only fit striker that Rodgers will try to keep him onside for the time being.

Come January though we need to have a ST that can come in to challenge and keep him on his toes.

 

I hope he doesn’t slip into the Dembele mould of playing only when the occasion suits him..

First touch was woeful yesterday.

 

He just had a bad day at the office. That surface was awful I wouldn't worry about his performance too much.

 

We need a fully firing Griff to give us an option.

All should be warming the bench on their return but it's great to have them back.

 

Playing on that surface is worst for a striker I think. Ball will be bobbling all over the place and unlike any other position in the team, the striker doesn’t have a lot of time to control the ball. Also backs to goal into the bargain.

It's no like me tbf ..

Just looked as if he wanted to be elsewhere yesterday, has to show 100% every game.

 

Aye he wasn’t up to it yesterday but people do forget his age, the mental switch between nights like Thursday to games like on Sunday... even some of our most experienced players have struggled doing that.

 

23 goals in 51 appearances for a 20 year old is brilliant, this is probably the first time he's had a real run in a team as the main striker playing week in week out and I think he's doing a fine job, won't be amazing in every game but he's only going to get better as time goes on.

He was hoaching tonight. I think we need to bring an experienced striker in that can link up play better, especially if we make it into the knockout stages of the Europa League.

Running at defenders is obviously his strong point, his passing badly needs to improve if he wants to make a big impact in games like tonight where teams play with a packed defence. Needs to get on the end of more crosses as well.

He has all the physical attributes to go far in the game, just needs to work on some parts of his game, badly.
