In less than a week we will get to see the Hoops in action! Can't wait!!! :ynwacelti Never usually too fussed about friendlies like this, but given how soon the qualifiers are, keen to see how we're looking.

Wouldn't have minded a signing in before this.

Yeah same. Whilst I think we have enough for the first qualifier, it'd still be nice to have added something else to the squad.

Brendan's obviously gonna take a right good look at what he has

Pretty sure I read Brendan saying he wanted a signing before the first qualifier just last week.

    Could still happen.

Even if we don't make any signings before the first qualifier, we have more than enough under Brendans management within the squad to jump that hurdle even if Griffiths gets injured I would even trust Ciftci to play in those games against Lincoln or Flora, preferably though Griffiths is fit for them.

Once the first qualifier is over though it's time to bring in a top class striker asap for the next round and beyond.

I think Brendan is doing the right thing in assessing the majority of the squad as it is in Slovenia.

He'll know the systems he'll want to play both domestically and in Europe. I'm sure we'll see both systems being used over the coming weeks with all the players getting their chance to impress.

Rodgers will then watch over all the pre season games I'd presume back to back deciding upon who is staying as first team players, who is moving on therefore not needed at the club and who can go out on loan as they will not be in immediate plans and could do with getting games to develop for the future. Wouldn't be surprised if already Lenny has asked if he can get anyone on loan over the next couple months. Finally Brendan will look to see what positions can be improved and strengthened upon.

Craig Gordon better get his act together because I wouldn't be surprised if Brendan doesn't trust him after his overall performance last season. Personally I think we should be on the lookout for a new number 1.

^^ Ciftci is pish i wouldn't trust him playing against junior teams he is honking, if as you say Griffiths gets injured then i would be worried we need another striker pronto

I'm more interested in seeing our formation and how he sets out the team tactically. BR has used so many different formations I'm excited to see whats used and when he uses it. Can imagine us playing a 3-5-2 domestically and 4-3-3 in Europe.

4-3-3 in Europe would be madness, in that formation you really need world class forwards like Barca otherwise you are giving up your midfield

This is true Gyp. That's why I wasn't down about RD playing one up in Europe. But against Hamilton and Partick etc.:52:

Think for this match we might be going 3-5-2 with Lustig, Erik and Tierney in defence. Wouldn't mind Charlie starting at all but would rather have him as a squad player, hopefully Ambrose is away (doesn't look like it though) and we have a whole bunch of midfielders wanting prove themselves.
