He would struggle to make the bench as they are all playing quite well. Won't take long for him to be in ahead of Hendry as back-up centre half Id imagine. Options are good!

He’s ahead of CB than Hendry for me. The fact is he can cover CM, CDM, CB and Brendan likes him. He’ll have his place on the bench.

Didn’t he play both CL City games? He’s a good composed player to bring on to slow play down. A lot of top teams have a player like that in their locker.

Played a big part in the 5-0 Hun game as well, his ball for Dembele’s 2nd was * excellent.

He’s a good player, he’s useful to have around. He’s also scored a few goals from corners and is capable of a screamer every now and then.

Could potentially be the new Mulgrew we have been absolutely crying out for. IIRC a few people said Mulgrew wouldn't get a game; but he could play CB, LB, LM, and deep playmaker. He got plenty of games. Every team outwith the superrich needs a player like that who can cover several positions competently. We can't afford to have 2 quality players for every position.

Aye and a variation of talent as well so you can drastically change when its not working. McGregor is probably the most useful at that and we have Christie and Ntcham as well that are good at changing roles on the pitch. Broony can do it but probably not really got the legs for it anymore... Tierney.

If you give yourself options on the pitch and the bench, a guy like Brendan should never be beaten tactically.

There was a period under Deila he was our best player. Looked phenomenal in the holding role, just a wee bit laboured in possession for Rodgers though.

A KNEE injury and subsequent surgery sidelined Hoops midfielder Nir Bitton in February last year. However, the 27-year-old has now put several months of rehabilitation behind him, returned to training, and wants to fight for his place in the Celtic starting XI.

“It’s tough staying positive, especially when you get a long-term injury,” Bitton told the Celtic View, before travelling to the team’s winter training camp in Dubai. “Sometimes people don’t understand, sometimes people take the simple things in life for granted.

"It was only after getting this injury that I realised I need to appreciate every single minute on the training pitch, every single minute on the pitch, because in one moment you can lose everything, and you can do nothing about it.

“From here, I’ll put the injury behind me, and my main focus is to get back to full fitness now, have a good time in Dubai with the team, to get back into shape, get some thorough training sessions in.

"After the winter break, I’ll keep pushing, keep training hard, and hopefully I’ll get some game time, and hopefully we’ll win some more trophies this season."

The Scottish champions head into the winter break top of the SPFL table with a game in-hand, and having played nine games in December alone, will use the time to recharge and return stronger.

Speaking of the values of the training camp itself, Bitton said: “Dubai is a good opportunity for us to get in a good week of training, but also to recharge the batteries for the second-half of the season. We’ve travelled to Dubai for two years running now, and it’s helped us prepare for the next part of the season on both occasions.

"If we get a good week of sessions now, we’ll be back to what we know and what know best, and that’s to win games and to win trophies.”

Better him than Hendry or Boyata (or Jozo).
