Just * crazy the injuries now.

Bitton done himself well adapting to the CB role, and needed to for his long term career at Celtic. Not the most natural, but he isn't the worse currently on our books.

Crazy though, and a massive stroke of bad luck that has swept through the team.

All said and done though, we still have the * best defence in the league and best scoring team. Yet we all seem on a downer with this season -plenty of reasons why it hasn't been as exciting to be honest.

Bitton isnt great at CB but at least hes some kind of cover for that position. His injury weakens the squad yet further.

There is DEFINITELY something wrong with the training and these dozens of injuries can't be a coincidence.

Celtic star Nir Bitton has told Maccabi Haifa they would be wasting their time if they launched a bid to try and bring him back to Israel.

The midfielder underwent knee surgery in February and is expected to miss the remainder of the season.

He's under contract for another two years at Parkhead, but Maccabi Haifa are desperate to launch a complete rebuilding of their team after a poor season which saw them plunge to ninth place in the Israeli League.

Dutch manager Fred Rutten has promised to bring in some big name players and his No.1 target was believed to be 26-year-old Bitton.

However, Bitton has immediately nipped any move in the bud by telling Maccabi he has no intention of returning to his homeland.

Bitton said: "I am not going back to Israel, it's not on my agenda.

"I am currently injured and I am under contract with Celtic until 2020. I am not interested in a transfer."

Bitton has already been at Parkhead for five years since he signed from FC Ashdod and has won seven major trophies during his time in Glasgow

I go through phases of loving him, then hating him - as a player.

I think he is a tidy player and good as a squad player for us. But just do not like seeing him and Brown in the same midfield together. They both end up sitting too deep and passing sideways. One or the other for me.
But with Brown generally always going to start when fit, that means no Bitton for me.

But then he done well adapting in the first half of the season to CB. Happy to see him stay for awhile if he is willing to take up that role/rotational sort of player. Will be crazy though that he will get to 7 seasons with us. Doesn't feel that long. But then he will be at the 9in a row season, guy will be itching for another seaon to get the ten, surely.

I like him. Comfortable in possession and can play passes that not a lot of others in the squad can.

If he was fit right now I would have had him in the back 3 with Ajer and Hendry since Compper is no where to be seen and Jozo isn’t getting in ahead of Boyata.

At one point, it looked like he’d be our next high value asset, but he never really kicked on from there. In fact, he’s regressed.

He’s still a decent enough player, but I’d move him on in the summer.

It's interesting he wants to stay so desperately when it appears he is nowhere near being a regular starter.
