Nir Bitton

He doesn't really seem to have a role in the team. I thought he started the season really well but has drifted and now looks almost uninterested. He came out earlier in the season with stuff about wanting to stay and fight for his place when he was dropped and has got back into the team but he plays like he takes it for granted.

Maybe it's his style which is fair enough, but as people have said that's a luxury you can't afford in games like Sunday or in Europe. It's the reason he crumbled in last seasons semi. Wouldn't have him near starting squad for Hampden and really hope Kouassie comes in and makes the position his own right away.

 

He does offer 'something'. He's not short of talent.

I used to always say he needs to either work on his defensive positioning or add goals to take his game to the next level. He's not really done either. I've seen him chasing after opponents when we get counter-attacked, but that's because he's so often in the wrong position to start with.

Sometimes there comes a point in a players career, and we've seen it a lot at Celtic, where they reach the point of no return* (or appears to, at least). Performances are poor and the fans are on your back.

Ambrose got there, Mackay-Steven is there, Bitton is probably there now, too.

*I thought the same about Armstrong and Boyata (still feel Boyata may be off in Summer).
