What has this guy done at West Brom or reading that makes him an ideal target for a club the size of celtic.do they have a brilliant set up at reading or something or is he just easier to pay than someone who's done it at a big club?

He must be on a low wage and very agreeable.

He seems to be highly regarded by Reading fans. 13 years as DOF, he must of found at least a few gems in that time..:giggle1:

Reading are a diddy mob who have little to no ambition though.

I could be their DOF and be successful.

We are without doubt a * laughing stock treble treble winners we should be so far out of sight of sevco it's scary. How many times do we shoot ourselves in the foot an absolute Mickey mouse set up from top to bottom

His links to Reading during the Rodgers era make me think he was considered for the Head of Recruitment role before we hired Congerton, and that we’ve now just gone back to the same list for a DoF.

Pathetic and embarrassing if this is how our board source targets.

I think Peter is starting to go a bit senile. Scary times.

Was excited at first seeing us linked with a DOF but by the opinions of people in this thread (and elsewhere) he seems a bit of a dud, i'm happy we're looking for a DOF but we can do better than this guy.

Lawwell was having a bit of a spring clean and came across his name again in the back of his filing cabinet. In 2 or 3 years, if we are looking for a new manager, he will no doubt start having a look through the applictions he received in the last few months but didn't bother opening.

I think this may be the most important signing of the season.

Appointing a DOF after we appoint a manager and after the transfer window opens.

    Wit a riot.

    * this.

We are a true shambles atm.

Signing a rb and a lb who CANT PLAY until 2020.

Trying to sign a relativley unproven midfielder whilst we head into CL qualifiers with NO right backs and NO left backs.

Cant wait for the next zinger.

Can see this "appointment" being wielded about as an excuse for another clusterfucked transfer window. "Bit bit , we had to wait on DoF and he will gie us a list... in January".

I seriously think Lawwell and DD have lost their * minds.

We need wholesale changes from top to bottom. Our current set-up just oozes apathy and staleness: it will cost us in the near future.

Thinking along same lines , excuse of waiting to see wot players he has in his portfolio , after telling us we have been working on recruitment since April and before , so now we bin all that work to see wot better players he can direct us to .
Maybe the final realisation that having pl deal in this area is the wrong way forward for us and possibly caused unnecessary friction with Rodgers and helped him onto the first bus out of town .
Sick and tired of the same shenanigans year after year , sell top player buy replacement at fraction of the cost , ok some work out , but most we dont see making it all the while lowering the standard of our team , somewhere along the way we need to supplement young potential ,with good quality experienced players or it never works ,we continue to fail in Europe where experience is a must and it's the place we must do better .
Can see us waiting and waiting and waiting until all that's left are players clubs want to get of the wage bill or no one wants and loan deals , I'll be surprised if we dont get deja vu, I hear he is out of contract .

Perfect man for Lawell, given his experience working with a similarly tight fisted Tory * in John Madejski.
