I was laughing at your ridiculous attempt to downplay the importantance of the next transfer window.

If Benković, Burke, Toljan or Weah are to return next season, it will require protracted negotiations with their parent clubs, as part of, not separate to, a significant rebuilding process.

Boyata has stated in no uncertain terms that he wishes to leave Celtic this summer.

Lustig and Izaguirre are finished at the highest level.

The site I got these details from also said they have a squad of only 26 or something. Probably very helpful to be able to limit their numbers and pay more etc. Not sure if we could run at that kind of number here

Which is why we will offer both a 1 year contract extension. Don't take Paul's bet, he knows this.

For those who are in love.....
Could've done with a centre back in but we've a lot of deadwood that will almost certainly go this summer, at last...plus some aging player's who've had their time..

    New keeper/Bain

    Toljan (Hopefully)/Ralston/Perez
    Ajer/new centre half
Benkovic (hopefully for another 12 or similar loan)/new centre half
    KT/new backup left back

    McGregor/Broony/Kouassi
    Christie/New box to box mid/Henderson
    Rogic/Shved/Johnston

    Forrest/Arzani
    Edouard/Bayo/Griff
    Sinclair/Weah

Work to do in the summer but doesn't look too bad. Centre half is the area that needs addressing on pre contracts or whatever now..

Fresh energetic player's in with pace and we'll be fine..

Need the scouting department to start doing their jobs properly now..

Yes we could. If we were more trusting of our youth system i.e promote a youth player to fill for senior players in event of injuries.

There won't be a transfer window there will be a 3day window between the last champions league qualifier(if we get that far) and the end of the transfer window and we put up with this retarded nonsense

Yeah. Until we need to play 3 of those kids in an important match, due to injury or suspension, they * something up and BOOM we've 30 threads about useless/out of depth/cheap players and a full scale meltdown! :86:

Seriously though, I'd love to see something like that. Tight squad, all killer no filler, progression from the academy, with real talents! :57:

It's a disgrace we'll potentially be going into a 9 in a row season needing to sign half a team.

Liewwell is a fat * I hope he * glass.

The irony of saying this about the manager who signed our record transfer.

I've just accepted we have no intention of investing in the team now. For every £10 we bring in, maybe as much as £1 will go to the transfer budget. Our board think they are smarter and better than everybody. The huns arrogance is in the form of bluster and bravado, for Celtic it's this oozing arrogance of believing we're so much smarter and more prudent than everyone.

I'm not going to greet about it anymore.

We did more business than I thought we would. We signed a RB, albeit a very short term measure, but a RB nonetheless. Let's hope he impresses.

We didn't sign Scott McKenna - reasons to be cheerful.

Summer window is massive (ad infinitum)

For now, let's get this league won.

I think calling it a success is a stretch.

Lawwell would probably use the machine to keep going back to his bonus collection day!

I don’t think it’s a stretch mate. I can understand folk saying they wish we had gotten in longer term deals, but it looks like we’ve brought in players who can make an impact now, along with players for use in the future. The club have looked at the short term and the long term in this window.

We’ve already seen a benefit from signing Weah and Burke. We got the right back we’ve all been wanting.

We’ll need a few signings in the summer too, but talk of an overhaul sounds like a bit much, imo. There’s still going to be a good core squad to work around.

Which I mentioned in my post...
Since Edouard they've gave him basically * all. You've been fully sucked in by the board's bullshit. 6 million upfront plus a couple mill in future add ons sounds great but compared to 40 million+ brought in over the last 2 seasons in transfer fees plus 7 trophies and 2 CL campaign money. We should, by any estimation, have spent vastly more.

You can pretend it's all good but a raft of 6 month loans and constantly ignoring key parts of the team don't bode well, that's for * sure.

The other argument is that the signings have been more miss than hit, whoever is signing them. Brendan was happy, according to himself, when he didn't have to say anything, last January. Is he happy now too?
I am no fan of Lawwell or the other Tory * on the board, but it is too easy just to blame here. Far, far too many factors involved here. Rodgers, Congerton, Lawwell and anybody else involved must take some responsibility for the atrocious mess that is the centre of our defence.
