I think Phil is just playing mind games, that's what he always did as coach. Take a * on players, get them to humble up, then kiss and make up.

I get a feeling that Porzingis needed some humbling. He's a young kid and not even an all star and he skips team meetings because he doesn't like direction of the team? Who does he think he is?

Phil maybe doesn't care about Rose because Rose is washed up and not the future of the team.

The "trade offer" to Celtics that was reported didn't seem like a serious offer, Phil asked for a top 3 pick, the next Nets pick (likely another top 3 pick), Jaylen Brown (top 3 pick last year and looking pretty good) and Crowder. This sounds like "ok, if you are stupid enough to give me that, I'll give you Porzingis".

 

The D'Angelo deal is surprising though. I kind of always liked him. He didn't seem immature in college - opposite of that, I thought he was going to be a leader like CP3. He didn't act like it in the NBA. But I think he's still going to be an all star.

The Lakers really didn't get much for him. Brook Lopez is 29 and not very durable. Kuzma is a very very raw prospect. Nets got a huge steal IMO. Their future suddenly doesn't look as dark as it did.

I guess Brook Lopez is a fairly nice fit next to Randle offensively. But defensively the Lakers are going to suck.

 

Hope the Bulls go full tank mode now and do a full rebuild like the sixers.
