Win The Europa League or win the Ten ?Assuming we get a manager capable of progressing us in Europe.
EL for me.Put us back where we should be.Not just to have bragging rights against a club that died and reformed,in essence is what The Ten will be.Akin to them bawbags shouting about "The 55".
I grew up watching Celtic sides who were feared and respected in Europe.
A good argument would be that The Ten would be a given if we won The EL.However, nothing is certain in this game.Particularly in our corrupt wee backwater of a league.

That would maybe make sense about 8 years ago, mate; but here and now, it's the 10. We're so close and it'll never happen again.

I think we will win a European trophy again in the lifetime of the younger members on here.

I'd easily pick the 10 so we can beat our own record of 9iar. * the Huns, their corrupt ways means their 9iar isn't even valid in my eyes. Funnily enough I don't have the same feelings for the Europa as what I did for the Uefa Cup.

    Hate these questions.

By default if we have a squad capable of winning the Europa the ten is even easier to do.

Seeing what teams and their budgets that got to the finals in the last few years, i think the 10 is far more realistic then European succes... So i stopped dreaming about silverware in Europe. Staying in europe after the winter is already a succes for us.

Sometimes it can swing the other way as well though mate. Sometimes a team can put so much into the European run that the League form suffers. Look at the Seville year, still can't believe we won nothing that year.

Correct Hail Hoopy. That season is one of my bitterest memories as a Tim.I have never watched a replay of the final.I was beside myself with grief.Particularly as it looked like we had them on the ropes and might go on to win it.
Perhaps Wee Jose might want to kiss and make up ;-)

Same here mate, I've never watched the game back. Very painful for us, I thought we had them too. I remember sitting greetin my eyes oot and my sister and her pal who were also greetin their eyes oot were cuddling me. I felt a bit stupid but there was nothing I could do :giggle1: I still get choked up when I think of our players and fans after the full-time whistle.

Heartbreaking stuff. You're right mate, Mourinho owes us one.

Coming from a financial & prestige angle, win the EL.
That would benefit Celtic far more financially & everything else would follow. We would be a more attractive proposition to new players & managers.
We are already the 1st team to win their domestic top flight league 8 times in a row twice.

This is of course on the proviso that the * don’t win the league instead of us, otherwise * the prestige & money I would want the 14 :84: then take the EL.

I would like 10 in a row a good run in Europe and would not bother about the domestic cups as along 10 was done.

Really? I read that a lot from our fans; but personally I thought that although we were a * good team and played quite well, they were the better team and only Larsson's genius kept us in it. Remember that with only one player different, they won the CL the following year. They did dive a bit, but no worse than usual for a team from southern Europe at that time. Once Balde got sent off, we were never going to do it. In the end I genuinely had no complaints, thought the score was a fair reflection of the game TBH.

I still can't quite believe we won nothing domestically, though. :54:

The Uefa Cup used to be meaningful to me, now I hate it.

Don't get me wrong if we were in the final of the Europa League I'd be desperately wanting us to win, but I don't think it would feel like Seville. The competition just seemed more credible back then, like it was the Champions League but it was still an excellent competition. Doesn't feel like that now.

So I would most definitely not swap 10-in-a-row for the Europa League. I would, however, most definitely swap 10-in-a-row for the Champions League.

My memory of the game is us being the better team, especially cause how we were up against it when Bobo got sent aff. But I've only watched the game once, so my emotions were pretty sky high. Maybe if I watched it back I would see it for what it was and would maybe think differently. Henrik was made for nights like that, he certainly didn't deserve to be on the losing side. I'm glad he got his Champions league glory with Barcelona, just a pity he didn't get the Uefa Cup with us.

Winning the ten is more important. As others have said, there's little chance of it being done again.

The fact the Uefa Cup was knockout all the way was brilliant. It even had a much better name than the Europa league.
