[Draft] New forum, new draft

Post in here to sign up for the new forum draft. This will be a draft where you send your picks in via PM (means I will be hosting the draft only, not taking part). There are two categories to this draft and each round the category will change.

The two categories are:

1. Players still currently playing
2. Modern retired players

So in round 1, you have to PM me your player and he must still currently be playing football professionally. In round 2, you can pick a modern retired player.

Definition of 'modern retired player': The player must have played at least 1 game after 1990.

If two people pick the same player in a round, that player is blocked for the rest of the draft, bar the final round where you must pick a player from the blocked list, to complete your team.

If there is no blocked list, or not enough blocked players for the number of entrants, then it's just a free for all, including the previously blocked players.

As we'll be starting with players still currently playing, the final round will also be players still currently playing. So have a bit of a think about who you're going to pick.

When PM'ing me, you have 2 attempts to pick a player who hasn't already picked. I will assign you a random dud if you fail to pick a player on your 2nd attempt.

Think I'll sit this one out, can't be bothered with modern only and the prize only applies to GMs so there's no real motivation to take part.

 

It's only v bookie that is open to GM's only. Cost of running the v bookie is met by GM donations so only fair they get use of that feature. All GM's can also have their old v amounts returned on request.

New bookie is much more modern and for the cost of being a GM alone plus the chance to have some fun on match days worth the measly £5 a year. GM's also get the chance to change their usernames as many times as they like for free.

Competitions like this one will hopefully have credits given manually by site Admin / Staff as soon as we can get that organised.

Had a look at the rules but still haven't got a clue how this works. I'll let this one pass mate.

It's actually really simple mate.

Each time you pick, you send me a PM with the player you want. If no-one else picks him, he's yours. If two or more people pick a player, that player is blocked for the rest of the draft. You get a second chance to pick another player if you clash with someone. If you clash with someone a second time, then I assign you a random dud player.

Rounds will go like this:

Round 1: Pick a player still playing football
Round 2: Pick a retired player who played at least 1 game after 1st Jan 1990.
Round 3: Pick a player still playing football
Round 4: Pick a retired player who played at least 1 game after 1st Jan 1990.

Once all PM picks are in for a round, I'll reveal who was successful with their pick and who was not. However, I should probably state that after each round, I won't be revealing which players were successfully picked, so those who have to pick again don't have it too easy.
