Yes lets just pick the managers that didnt succeed, lets not mention Strachan, O'Neil, Rodgers....oh and Neil Lennon who has already won the title and qualified for the last 16 of the CL in his previous stint.

There was a lot of sarcasm in my comment, I forget sarcasm doesn’t come across well when it’s just written on the internet.

If he gets the job he can rectify it. It shouldn’t be a reason for him to get the job though.

Our team has goals in it but he seems to be struggling to get it out of them. The increased number of crosses per game is partially to blame so that’s a tactics issue. The players can be to blame too of course.

So far away from those 2 not even on the same planet ,there seems to be an over exaggeration that builds just because something is said and suddenly it becomes the truth ,life as we now know it .

Chilled-out Neil Lennon has revealed he could be on the beach when his Celtic future is decided.

The Parkhead manager is ignoring the fevered discussions about his long-term job prospects as he concentrates fully on Saturday's William Hill Scottish Cup Final against Hearts.

Celtic’s hierarchy are set to push on with their permanent manager plans soon after the Hampden showpiece.

Lennon, however, isn’t stressing over a potential announcement and has made arrangements to have a hard-earned holiday once the Final is over.

The interim manager is relaxed about the situation as he explained: “I’m going to Marbella on Monday for a few days for my mate’s 50th birthday.

“I’ll be around on Sunday, then away for three or four days. We’ll see what happens after that.

“I knew the situation and I’ve said it ad nauseam since I’ve been here. I’ve said it will be resolved after the cup final and that hasn’t changed.

If there’s communication, we can do it on Sunday, we can do it over the phone. Look, I’m not pre-empting anything, that’s pointless.

“What I’m telling you is my plan for after the cup final. Go away and see what happens.”

Lennon insists he is calm about the furious speculation over his future with a flurry of names constantly being linked to taking the top job at Parkhead after Hampden.

The gaffer admits the biggest weight was lifted off his shoulders when Eight in a Row was secured as he added: “I’ve also learned not to engage in false news, noise, rumours, all that stuff.

“There is a lot of that in this day and age and I’m not on that stuff at all.

“I quit Twitter years ago and all the other stuff because it’s just not important any more. It’s not real.

“There are things on there that can be interesting and there are things on there that are really not appropriate and personal.

“Again, you can’t take offence to it because people are voicing their opinions, but it’s not really pertinent to me because it’s not really important.

“I feel good because I’ve come in and basically done the job I’ve been entrusted to do.

“I am more relaxed because the league is out of the way. That is the one that was the bigger stressor really. As was the semi-final and getting to the final.

“It was almost as if you are being judged game to game. He has to win this and he has to win that.

“That’s not going to be the case at all. Saturday isn’t going to dictate whether I get the job or not.

“I’m relaxed because the main part of the job has been done. There is still a bit to do, but it is for the players, it is not for me.

“I keep going back to it. It is not important for me to win the cup, it is important for the players to create their own legacy in the history of the club. That is very, very important.”

Lennon’s team are huge favourites to seal the treble Treble at the National Stadium, but the boss is taking nothing for granted and said: “Hearts are a very difficult obstacle for us to overcome, so there’s no point me sitting here telling you I’m going to feel when we win the cup.

“That will, hopefully, all come at half past five on Saturday.”

Just not seeing Lennon getting it with no announcement so far, if he was getting the job there are only detrimental reasons for not announcing. There's no season book deadline this weekend is there?

Not unless he's on trial until the final and depending on securing the treble.

One hurdle to go if that's the case.

Neil Lennon has defended his current tenure as Celtic manager by claiming "it's not my side, it's Brendan's".

Lennon, 47, has suffered only one loss as boss but has come in for criticism due to the style of play from his team.

The former Hibernian boss was put in charge for a second time on a temporary basis after Brendan Rodgers' February departure to Leicester City.

"People saying, 'Well the performances aren't the same' - well they are," he told BBC Scotland's Sportscene.

"If I had gone in and changed things and it hadn't worked, I would've been making a huge mistake. It was important to get the players over the line, win the league.

"The training, everything, we kept the same. You've got to put the players first. It's an important piece of the club's history that they could achieve here.

"Going forward, the style of play I think can be a little bit different. Teams are starting to work out the way we play. We need to be more flexible in our style."

Celtic retained the Scottish Premiership - the club's eighth league title in a row - and could complete a treble treble by beating Hearts in Saturday's Scottish Cup final.

As of yet there is no decision over who will take the manager's job on permanently, and Lennon says he remains pragmatic about the proposition.

"I want to manage," said Lennon. "Take a holiday first and then have a look at things and see what's there.

"I've really enjoyed the last three years being back in Scotland. I've had some great success both at Hibs and Celtic. I've enjoyed it immensely and it's been really good for me, so if it's not to be Celtic then I'm hoping for a new challenge somewhere else.

"I would love it [if I stayed on at Celtic]. It's a privileged position, I've done it before."

See more of Michael Stewart's Sportscene interview with Neil Lennon on Friday at 19:00 BST, BBC Scotland.

    Hmm.

First point in bold - The performances aren't the same Lenny. We're barely scoring any goals.

The second point in bold - Teams are working out how we play because now we just lump crosses into the box.

Why does he keep saying he hasn't changed our style of play when he so clearly has? Starting to think he thinks we're idiots and can't tell the difference.

Seems like a bit of a get out of jail free card by claiming it's not his team, the level of performance has been just as inconsistent and stale as all season (except the run from January to the snakes departure).

The style isn't visibly that different but like you say we've definitely been more focused on crossing from wide, even though we've no target man or even anyone who can whip a good ball in :43: I don't mind going more direct but you need the right personnel to execute it properly.

Odsonne Edouard is our top scorer and he plays up front for us. He’s a striker despite being strong coming in from the left.

I am not his biggest fan, but that aside, he isn't a striker and it is a massive part of our problem.
