CELTIC are ‘finalising’ a move to sell Moussa Dembele to Lyon for £18million before the transfer window shuts tonight – with the striker being loaned back to the Hoops until January.

Reports in France earlier claimed that Celtic would not be willing to part ways with Dembele until January as Brendan Rodgers would not be able to bring in a replacement.


But L’Equipe believe ‘all the lights are now green’ for Dembele to leave the club – with the Frenchman returning to Parkhead in the short term.

The reported figure will be just shy of £18m.

The Hoops striker is pushing for a move on deadline day, in the wake of a late-night Twitter outburst.

After Celtic’s Europa League win over Suduva, he tweeted: “A man without his word is nothing. A real man keeps his word.”

On reflection it would probably would be prefable from our perspective if we did keep him until Jan, but that seems unlikely. How is he going to work with Rodgers now given what he's said on Twitter?
