That's what I am asking, even I have a contract, isn't there a law that states a player can resign given a certain notice period, just curious tbh.

If Dembele goes then we need another striker. Edouard and Griff aren’t enough, considering their injury problems.

 

I'm sure a player could buy out their contract. But they can't just resign the same way you can in other places of work. Footballers contracts aren't the same as everyone else's.

There's a easy way around these 'gentleman's agreements'. There’s far too much ambiguity about what a substantial offer really is.

Minimum fee release clause. Meet our valuation and you get to talk to the player regardless of circumstance, fail to meet it and the player has no grounds for complaint.

I think regardless BR will walk in the summer and we should then get rid of PL as there’s a pattern of shortsighted behaviour and taking the fans and managers for granted...

Don’t get me wrong BR has played his part in the shambles this season, but PL needs to go, no doubt..

We should've been preparing from the first bid we ever received for him. It was a virtual inevitability mate and supposedly our transfer strategy to move these talents on.

You have went from no-one knows whats going on in the background to this conclusion pretty quickly . Anyway I have no idea if BR will leave (I doubt it though) but I can tell you one thing, based on previous statements and the remuneration package he is now tied into PL won't be leaving anytime soon - 2020. (Unless he gets a generous compensation package) You just need to read the remuneration package he has signed up with, to know that plus DD backs him.

 

I am in a contract and if I get sacked, leave or whatever my employer can sue me for going on to work in a similar company for the first 12months, I don't know how well its enforced but I signed of to that.
