When it’s two wrestlers of that calibre it’s great to watch. Chess match but with punches and kicks.

Yea also think when your fighting a wrestler that good you can’t commit like you usually would to your strikes and his striking looked worse as a result

Never been as impressed by Khabib as others have and honestly believe Conor would chin him if he can get some appetite back into him again.

His stand up is really poor, far too many openings for a decent counter puncher not to exploit.

It's a 60/40 in Khabibs favour IMO. He won't trade with McGregor. He will be looking for the takedown from the first bell. McGregor must catch him with something solid while he is doing it. I can see him catching McGregors leg and pounding him. I think that is much more likely. The only reason I'm giving McGregor a 40% chance is because it is him.

My take on Khabib is that he’s obviously and outstanding grappler (duh!) and when he has you down he looks to be an absolute nightmare with a terrific engine. However he closes the distance quite sloppily. You just can’t do that against any decent striker and McGregors distance control, timing and power would mean there’s a good chance he flattens him early. I honestly think there’s a bigger gap between their hands in McGregors favour than there is grappling in Khabib’s favour.

Possibly all irrelevant because I’m not sure one side of this equation wants any part of the other unfortunately.

The main thing is McGregor does seem to tire quite quick in fights, so if Khabib did take him down once in the first round he'd probably be *.

McGregor is one of the quicker movers though so if anyone can avoid being took down he'd be one of the most likely and Khabib will be worried about getting caught as he goes for takedowns.

Its the main fight i'd want to see just to see who would come out on top because there will be massive pressure on them both as well, if McGregor loses he'll get the * taken out of him by everyone and if Khabib lose he'll lose his unbeaten record so both will likely be * it to give anything away.

Khabib just looks so much stronger to me. Stronger than anyone McGregor has been in with.

Chad Mendes took Conor down at will, * knows what Khabib will end up doing to him.

This. He absolutely ragdolls opponents and drains everything out of them.

Nup but it wasn’t me making the comparison!

For me, Khabib will get beat the second he’s in the Octagon with an elite striker who can survive 2 rounds of a guy smothering them.

As soon as Iaquinta’s legs were sweaty enough he was wriggling free of every 10 foot lunge for a single. He just didn’t have the tools to pick a high chinned Khabib apart on the feet when that’s the pattern the fight took.

You’re really not saying Mendes is anywhere near the fighter Khabib is surely?

Khabib won’t let him up that easy and won’t be gassed if they do get up.

I brought him because of what he done to Conor and how much bigger and better Khabib is than him.

You seemed to be replying as if Mendes is even close to Khabib... if you didn’t mean it that way then I’d loved to know what the * you meant by it :giggle1:
