Rodgers idiotically threw him into his first game against the huns at Ibrox as a lone striker. He struggled badly as Rodgers stood on the sidelines laughing. Felt sorry for him that day but things will be different on Sunday.

It is a delight to watch Johnstone so far this season. He is such an exciting player to watch. I hoped this would be his breakout year in the first team and it looks like that is what is happening.

I do fear for him in one way though. Just like with Tierney he will get kicked all over the shop in the SPFL and will get no protection from the refs at all in fact in SPFL games and I expect to see it big time on Sunday he will get targeted deliberately and the refs will do nothing other then give us a few free kicks around the half way line. I hope I am being just a bit paranoid about this as Johnstone is such fun to watch but I doubt it both this Sunday and in general in SPFL games.

He's doing well, but still think he has a lot of flaws and poor distribution and team play, but he's only young.

Problem is he seems to be the number 1 option on the left which I think has come too early.

I'm not sure him and Boli will be a good partnership for the weekends game. These games seemed to just fly by him, although he has developed well in that space of time.

Good Post this. Boli is hung out to dry up against 2 players a lot. Perhaps Johnny Hays would be more suited to this fixture with MJ coming on as a potential impact player.

Might have said it before but I just didn't take to Mikey instantly, completely proving me wrong though.

As long as we manage him correctly, so the opposite of what we did to Tierney and he can stay injury free, he'll be a big player for us this season.

Not actually sure I'd start him at Ibrox either, not really sure why, just think the occasion and the fact the last time he started there he was hung out to try could get the better of him

Would have no qualms about him starting sunday whatsoever, throw the lad in and let him make a complete * out of tavernier

    Thought he was outstanding.

Tavernien was * terrified of him anytime he got the ball.

He’s going to be unstoppable when Jack Nayler gets a hold of him :36:

That was a seriously mature performance from him. Got back and did a proper job helping with bolingoli and tavernier was terrified to go anywhere near him when he was running with the ball. The pass for eddy was sublime too.

After being thrown under the bus on his last 2 games at the midden that was outstanding.

Played well today and looked at home out there which he never last season. If he continues his improvement we'll have quite a player.

Put in a great shift, did brilliant for goal and was dangerous in 1st half, did fall out it.

With him and Elynoussi options out there it's very exciting times.

Remember when he couldn't play there?

As quiet a game as Tavernier will have and it's because Mikey was at him and beat him quite a few time's..

Both goals came kinda down his side as well..

Was a nap or threat to them and they knew it..

I thought Kris was the only person I've seen develop in front of our eyes, KT had it already, Callum back from loan had it already now Ryan and Mikey are becoming something special every game.

He even gets an assist for the second for knowing when to get replaced by Hayes!
