Mikey Johnston

He was outstanding today, I was all for loaning him out next season but after watching the link up play with him and Henderson I would love the both of them to get more game time in the first team.

We have a few cracking young players ready to break into the first team! Exciting times ahead.

 

Still think he needs a loan out. Hes great when got time and space on the ball but how often does that happen at Celtic? Usually 10 men behind the ball against us. Lacks physically as well for me. A loan out worked well for Ajer

 

He should be competing with a new winger to start on the left next season. Forrest and Shved on the right. Dembele to continue in the reserves for the most part

 

Said it last week before the Huns game when some were going into meltdown at his inclusion but this boy will be an absolute pler for us in the next few years.

He'll be given more of a chance next season. Will feature more in the cup games and at home against diddy teams.

This. Johnston and Henderson are good enough to be starting most league games (ie not being played out of position away to the sheep or huns) just now, don't think either of them need a loan spell.

Henderson's already looked good at Tynecastle and looks ideal to rotate with Rogic. Then with any luck we'll get rid of Sinclair and bring in a new starting left winger with Mikey getting a solid 20 starts off the left as back up considering we play 60+ games a season.

 

If they'll both get 15/20 game's a season I'd be for keeping them here next season..

After seeing that today, I don't really want to see them go on loan....but on the flip side, having them go and do a Christie for example might be better for all in the long run..

It's a tough choice because they need regular game time now to flourish. Today proves that. Will they get it here? Doubtful..

We'll sign a left winger as you say and that might push him even further down. Likely a box to box/10 will come in and same with Henderson as well..

 

Agreed but think w should play Eddy out let and get a new striker to compete with Griff and possibly Bayo. I would like to see Weah back but it's a funny one because of the way teams set up against us he would probably be more useful in Europe than the league.

 

Loan players should only be brought in if they're an upgrade on what we have and are able to go immediately into our starting XI.

Weah done a job for us when he came in but it makes no sense to be developing another teams talent, to the detriment of our own.

We need to have more faith in our youth players.

 

Fair point about Edouard on the left. I'd be all for trying that with a new man in and KT fit and firing back down the left with Edouard cutting in..

I’d still send him out on loan along with Henderson. They aren’t going to play the amount of first team football they need here.

 

Agreed mate. Both the management and even more so the support need to be patient when we're bringing youth through.

Henderson and Johnston are superb for their age.

 

What's the craic with Arzani? Is he with us next year as he looked useful? Personally, I agree with Eddy left and a new striker with Geiff/Bayo...

 

I would send Arzani back, rather give MJ, Henderson, Dembele and Okoflex game time before him.

Like others have said and I have for years no point in helping other teams youngsters progress at the cost of our own.

To be fair he is never gonna get a chance at City and they are just multi buying to make money hoping other sides take them on loan and make them progress.

 

Hope that he starts back to kick on now, definite talent and ability there, just needs to be involved more and get a proper run
