I get what you're saying but England's kid's have been sweeping up everything for a good few year now and mostly are plying their trades learning in the lower league's with their club's or on loan..

I know some are going to the Bundesliga but realistically that won't happen with Johnston. He still has a bit of developing to do physically and footballing wise. A move to someone like Sunderland in January under a good young manager, big club who are competing for promotion will do him wonders..

Technically he's very good already. It's the real football he'll experience that will hold him in good stead moving forward..

Yeh I wouldn't send to bubdesliga look how Burke turned out I don't see anything wrong with sending him to a efl championship team or another spfl team look how Christie did getting into the Aberdeen side gave him a lot of experience

He isn't gonna play in the Bundesliga, let's be honest. In a couple of years and the way Bundesliga side's give kid's a chance, it isn't totally out the question but a loan to a high end league 1 side, championship side or a Hibs or so wouldn't be the worst move..

I can't think of too many of those England kids that have made the step up. Maybe I am blinkered as I think that the English leagues are massively overrated, but I just feel that the type of player we are trying to cultivate are based on technique, passing and athleticism, which is more suited to other leagues than those down south, outside the EPL at least.

Alli, Callum Wilson, Joe Gomez for example all started or played for lower league club's..

Kane played lower league football plenty of loans. There's plenty under 21's and under as well..

Stones Barnsley. Maguire Sheffield United. Walker Sheffield United..

Sessegnon playing for Fulham in lower league's. Maddison at the sheep and Norwich before being the 10 for Leicester. Demari Gray from Birmingham to Leicester..

It's good for youngsters to go abroad but England are reaping more benefits now from player's playing outside the big side's in the EPL..

I do still think it's overrated their national side and product but there is good player's at those lower league levels for good young player's of ours to go and develop with and against..

Seemed like the only positive thing I saw from that game today.

Looked lively when he came on. Given a run, he could be a good yin.

Must admit from what I had seen from him in the first team I never rated him but he was good when he came on today and 100% should start ahead of Sinclair on Wednesday

Airdrie is the next game, right? Perfect timing to try out Mikey. We need more fresh ideas. Christie was a revelation, but we just need even more options.

How players like this young lad done get more game time instead of players like Sinclair and Ntcham even now Brown is beyond me.

We have alternative players that can fit in and yet Rodgers favourites keep getting game time? Madness. Need a run in the side.

He’s had a couple of injuries this season, hopefully that’s him fully fit and in the team now.
