    Yep..

In troubled time's when thing's aren't going well on the pitch and off it, it can ruin boy's like this..

He certainly doesn't hide that's for sure..

Being asked to play right out of his more natural positions and make thing's happen in a side who are * scared to do anything but pass the buck. You wouldn't see Brendan sticking Sinclair on the right..

I would have liked to see Forrest and Johnston start today. At least Forrest would have tried to get involved and take some pressure off of Mikey.

CELTIC are delighted to announce that Mikey Johnston has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2023.

The highly-rated teenager put pen to paper on the new agreement at Celtic Park today (Tuesday) in a deal that will ensure he continues his impressive development in the Hoops for the next four-and-a-half seasons.

Johnston joined the Celtic Youth Academy as a nine-year-old and said that he is elated to be able to commit his future to the club.

“I’m absolutely delighted,” said the winger in an exclusive interview with Celtic TV. “It’s incredible for me and my family to commit my future here. It’s unbelievable to have been part of this amazing club for 10 years and I’m excited for the future.

“I hope I can play my part. The club have given me a lot of confidence to go on and I’m going to try and repay them for that.”

Johnston made his senior debut just one month after his 17th birthday in a 4-1 win against St Johnstone at Celtic Park towards the end of the 2016/17 Invincibles season.

Two years on, the skillful young winger has gradually built up his experience of playing in Brendan Rodgers’ side and has featured in all competitions for Celtic so far this season.

Johnston feels he has continued to make improvements in his game and is now focused on showing that whenever the opportunity arises.

“I feel I’ve developed a lot since making my debut two seasons ago,” said the 19-year-old. “It’s hard coming in from a boy’s game and into a man’s game, but I feel I’ve improved a lot. You don’t see a lot behind the scenes but I’ve improved a lot and I’m hoping I can kick on and show everyone that.

“There’s been a lot of good players who have come up through the Celtic youth system and hopefully I can carry that on and go and show everyone what I’m about.

“You need to have confidence to be a winger at Celtic. The fans love players who are going to go out and try to entertain them and score goals and create assists. I have the confidence and I’m wanting to show that.

“Hopefully I can break into the team and start playing every week. I want to develop, improve and keep enjoying my football."

Rodgers track record of developing players of his ilk makes me excited about this. Gallus wee * that’s skilful and isn’t afraid to beat people.

Next couple years are big for him.

Great news, still got a bit to go yet.Needs to be a bit more of a team player, seems a bit selfish at times, which is fine when it pays off, hopefully that'll come to his game soon.

Really excited to see him and other youth get into the for one it's easier to keep them at the club in the long terms and saves the club from having to fork out sums of money to cover the gap

I'd be tempted to send him to England..

Away from the plastic pitches and a similar route to McGregor. He'd flourish in my opinion, big time..

    * no, we want our players more comfortable playing a european style, we should be looking at sending them to european leagues, even if it is to the likes of second division Spanish/German/Italian clubs.
