Discuss Mikael Lustig in the Ex Players area at TalkCeltic.net.
My * that is heartbreaking stuff.
Have they * off yet?
I doubt they'd be making that sickening video if he'd have read his thread on here
Video would have been done still.
A couple of interesting points I took from that video: First, the decision to not extend his contract was taken even earlier than we thought so they (club) had even more time to get a replacement in early for the qualifiers than we originally thought, as they knew they needed one. Secondly she said she thought they would have been here for another year, which doesn't sound to me like he was demanding a 2 or 3 year deal from us as seemed to be the claim.
Lustig said himself am sure he had another year Celtic held the option but he wanted a longer new deal and Celtic wouldn’t budge. He did kind of slate the club directors saying he wouldn’t attack the club but they “knew what they done”
That doesn't make sense. If celtic held the option for another year it would have been part of his contract, so he wouldn't be able to demand a longer deal, we just take up the option as we did with Sinclair.
Just watched that video, man that's making me miss the big * even more now.
Small insight to how some players live in constant upheaval.
7.5years and they had made a home, can see the whole family were not for leaving.
I know sentiment doesn't come in to it at a certain level of football, but I still reckon had we been smarter, then lustig could have seen out his career here.
Kept lustig, signed gumney. Saved the money/wages from elhamed (no offence to the lad) and lustig could have ended his career here, legs are going etc but could have been utilised at CB more often.
Hope he and the family come back and visit often, great player for us over the years and is clearly a massive fan.

He wanted a 3 year contract, we couldn’t justify that.
