I did read it, you're trying to justify how Lustig isn't as * as people claim because our better defender was poor for one game this season, the other has under performed for 2 seasons. Sure he can look comfortable against bang average teams who sit back all game but Ralston could do the same job (plus run forward). If we don't get a new right back we will get spanked by Valencia both legs, that was a liverpool youth loanee who has been out for 2 months ripping him apart- can only imagine what Cheryshev on steroids would do to him.

 

We have far more pressing issues than RB that I’d like addressed first.

CB should be the main priority.

No, I'm not. You obviously didn't read it. I'm saying the abuse he is getting and has been getting is not justified by Saturday. Everyone was terrible on Saturday, including Ralston. I'm saying judge him by his performances in general.

In general, he is now a weak link (though I don't agree at all that this goes back two years) and he needs to be replaced; but he is nowhere near as * as people are making out. Sure, he was on Saturday and there was Leadpipe Louis to say he'd been right all along; but everyone (except Calmac) was utter * on Saturday, so that's a bullshit argument.

No, I am not paranoid about the guy - I hate anyone who cheats his team-mates and the supporters. Right now he is the worst offender although Sinclair has joined the ranks (some time ago) but I gave him the benefit of the doubt .
I love Emilio but always knew he would give away free kicks when tackling back and we paid heavily for that on occasions.
Lustig is no team player - I got tired of him recycling the ball back incessantly then pointing to where it should go next -i.e. not to me, I don't want it . As someone else finally pointed out, how many times has he feigned injury to get out of the hot seat ?

Can you not recall the PSG game where he faked an injury after getting his * ripped for their first? Then 4 days later played 94 minutes against Motherwell in the cup final, must have been magically healed by * for such a recovery.. Or how about in September against Turkey where he got ripped by Calhanoglu and then proceeded to act hurt for the next 30 minutes as an excuse until he got subbed. That's just the recent ones I can recall, the only one where he is genuinely injured was red bull when he got clattered. Anyway like you say I think we can all agree he is no longer starter and shouldn't have his contract extended just because of his loyalty for the club.
