Anyone else hate the way he always holds his hands out frustrated when dribbling out of the back, as if the issue was his teammates not making runs for him and not his being unable to go past a man or, more generally, his being the worst player in the starting XI on any given day?

I hate when there’s zero movement in the side. He hasn’t done it against Hibs or St Johnstone, why? Because there was folk moving for the ball.

Him asking teammates to move into space is far from the big problems we have.

Unelated to Lustig it annoyed me in that 2nd half that only Christie seemed like busting a gut to get into space. Ntcham and McGregor were poor

Aye, I said it earlier on but Christie done a mans job tonight. On that showing he deserves more gametime.

Anytime Ntcham showed up we actualy done well, too often he never, a very disjointed performance from him

He does I think constantly now to make it seem like he's not the problem. Whereas gamboa will just drive it low into a forwards feet

ML on domestic form: "Our confidence is high and we've been scoring a lot of goals. It's important to continue this form on Sunday.

ML on Hearts: "They've started very well this season. We know they'll try to make it difficult for us. It's a great pitch at Murrayfield so we're looking forward to the challenge.

    Fair play.

Said he’d turn up against them and he did.

He’s been excellent since St.Johstone away domestically, it’s weird but it’s as if every 1st half he’ll play safe but then further into the 2nd half he gets forward more and passing forward a lot more thats not just aimless balls forward. Stepped up when wearing the armband.

MIKAEL Lustig led the Hoops out to victory in what was his 250th game for the Hoops as they defeated Hearts 3-0 in the League Cup semi-final at Murrayfield.

The Swedish defender has come a long way since making his debut back in 2012 and, like most Celts, he has become rather used to collecting winner’s medals along the way. In this week's Celtic View, we take a look at some of his landmark games on the way to 250.

Both Mikael Lustig and Andre Blackman made their Celtic debuts in this game as the team’s remarkable run of 20 domestic victories was finally ended at Pittodrie with the Hoops were held to a 1-1 draw by Aberdeen. Although the Swede would rather have started his Hoops career with a win, his debut wasn’t as unmemorable as Blackman’s as the unfortunate new Bhoy levelled for Aberdeen with an own goal after Anthony Stokes had put the Hoops ahead.

It was back to Pittodrie for Mikael Lustig’s next landmark game, and this time the Hoops recorded a victory by preserving their perfect start in the Scottish Premiership with a dominant 2-0 victory over 10-man Aberdeen. Kris Commons' penalty kick at the end of a cagey first-half put them in charge after Jamie Langfield had been given his marching orders for catching Georgios Samaras as he raced in on goal. The Hoops spurned several chances after the break before substitute James Forrest added a second with four minutes remaining to ensure that they banked maximum reward. The games was in its 65th minute when Lustig came off the bench to replace Adam Matthews and the Swede nearly scored Celtic’s second but his flick from Charlie Mulgrew's free-kick was saved by Nicky Weaver.

Injuries had taken their toll on Mikael Lustig’s appearances in seasons 2013/14 and 2014/15 but he was back in top form in 2015/16, and he reached his century landmark early in the term. However, despite a dominant display, the Swede and his Celtic team-mates had to settle for a share of the spoils against Hearts in Paradise, with the match ending in a frustrating goal-less draw. The Hoops were on top throughout the contest and carved out a number of excellent chances, with the impressive James Forrest coming closest when he struck the woodwork

An incredible night of drama, goals and passion at Celtic Park saw the Hoops share the spoils with Manchester City in a sensational six-goal thriller in the UEFA Champions League in what was Mikael Lustig’s 150th Celtic game. Celtic took the lead three times in the game, but they were pegged back every time by Pep Guardiola’s City side, who failed to win for the first time in 11 games under him. The plaudits went to Brendan Rodgers’ Bhoys, whose determination, bravery and impressive football, spurred on by a typically vociferous home crowd, gave everyone at Paradise a night to remember, none more so than young Kieran Tierney, who scored Celtic’s second goal on his 50th appearance for the club. It was Moussa Dembele who put the Celts in front and he also netted an amazing third just after the break.

There was more European action for Mikael Lustig’s next landmark game as Celtic produced a magical night in Brussels with a dominant performance over Anderlecht, beating the Belgian champions 3-0 to take all three points thanks to goals from Leigh Griffiths, Patrick Roberts and Scott Sinclair. Olivier Ntcham’s precise pass through the inside-left channel found the overlapping Kieran Tierney, and his low cross to the far post was finished superbly by Griffiths. Then Patrick Roberts fired in a shot which took a deflection and ended up in the net to make it 2-0. Celtic got further reward for a dominant display in the final minute when Ntcham intercepted a forward pass and threaded the ball through to Scott Sinclair, who surged into the box before finishing with aplomb.

Not only did Celtic reach the League Cup final and maintain their drive to a seventh successive trophy under Brendan Rodgers in Mikael Lustig’s landmark 250th game, the Swede also led the Hoops out at Murrayfield wearing the captain’s armband in the absence of Scott Brown. There wasn’t much to write home about in the first half, but that all changed after the break and the scoring started when Scott Sinclair slotted away a spot-kick after Ryan Christie was brought down in the box. Christie was involved in the second as well when his shot was fumbled by Zdenek Zlamal and James Forrest followed up for the second. Then came the goal of the game as Christie swept home a wonderful shot to make it 3-0.

Wouldn't regard 120 mins of football as a while now.

3 games before that...ragdolled against Hibs. Reasonable against a St.Johnstone side with no attacking intent. Woeful against Salzburg.

Against teams who camp with 10 men behind the ball his weaknesses aren't exposed. If we're against a team that has a go at us he struggles.

It has been far longer than 120 minutes.

Ragdolled again Hibs is simply untrue. He had a superb game and was destroyed for pace by the quickest player in the league in a single move across the entire game.

1 of our best attacking options at the minute..

    Definitely got the shackles off..

It's as if he's been carrying something and fully free now..
