Full statement released by Ozil. Thoughts?

Fair play to him for not holding back. The DFB President sounds like a complete *.

Hopefully he'll be removed from his position and Ozil will be back.

Regardless of this particular issue, for me Ozil has an absolutely shocking attitude which has seen him go from a world class footballer to a name that used to be good whilst still picking up his million quid a month.

He's right, he's seen as the scapegoat for Germany's failings whenever they come up short. Yet when you look at it he's won the German player of the year award 5 times and has helped them win a world cup (also the under 21 Euros). He's a magnificent player, in the game vs Korea he created so many chances for Germany yet the forwards missed them, he ended up still being criticised the most.

Amen. And to think you rattled off his name as a 'proper EPL midfield player' in a debate about Armstrong's move south

There’s absolutely no doubting his talent. Stu Armstrong shouldn’t even be mentioned in the same sentence when discussing ability.

    Completely seperate things.

His situation reminds me of the way the tabloids in England treat Sterling.

We weren't comparing him to Armstrong I'm sure, or anything like it. He was one of the first names you rattled off under the 'proper EPL midfielder' heading.

Good response. Shows there's clearly some serious shortcomings in the upper echelons of the DFB.

He’s been getting pelters for taking photos with a dictator, then flips the table and blames it all on racism? Unreal.

23 goals and 40 assists in 92 caps though, key part of their World Cup winning squad, not bad.

From what he says I can see why he feels there's a racial element to the criticism he receives. Doesn't seem to be unfounded at all.
