Aye, when Lenny has shown he's not immune to giving young players a chance there's plenty of optimism for Shved. Bayo, through injuries sure, had to wait ages.

I don't think we need to worry about him getting a chance to prove himself.

Not playing him is dropping him to the bench. He hasn’t played the most amount of football in Europe like Tierney did... he’s in a very good bit of form and dropping him (or not playing him) would be a horrific thing to do at this stage.

Shved will get more minutes, it’s very early in the season. It’s very far from ‘criminal’.

He was unlucky not to get on today due to injuries, his chance will come.

Dropping him for me means he’s out the team and needs to earn it back or wait for his chance again. He’s the starter and he has 2 of the biggest games of his career coming up next week.

20 mins for Shved today does more for him than it does for Johnston who has bigger fish to fry. Sitting out today is more detrimental to Shved than Johnston.

I just fear we are wasting a real talent and it’ll bite us in the *. As long as Lennon is talking to him, although his public comments don’t fill me with hope. Some of the best players in the world weren’t the best trainers. Like Allen Iverson said, “We talking about practice”. Let him loose.

We will leave it at that. I’ll apologise when he starts against Hamilton.

It’s the start of the season, there’s always an adaption period for a young boy moving countries to a very different culture

He’ll get his chance, people are being panic merchants.

It is a bit stupid that he's not getting minutes domestically when we're cruising. It's the perfect chance to bed him in, under no pressure.

CELTIC new boy Marian Shved has been sent home from international duty with Ukraine after injuring his ankle in training.

The £2 million signing from Karpaty Lviv has been used extremely sparingly by Neil Lennon since he returned in the summer from a loan spell at his former club.

He's made just one sub appearance for the Hoops in a Champions League qualifier in Estonia where he netted his first goal for the club against Nomme Kalju.

Despite his lack of appearances for the Hoops, Ukraine boss Andriy Shevchenko called him for their Euro 2020 qualifier in Lithuania and the friendly against Nigeria.

However, the 22-year-old been sent back to Scotland after injuring his ankle.

The Ukrainian FA stated: "Unfortunately, Marian Shved has returned to his club after suffering an ankle injury and will not travel to Lithuania."

Last month, Lennon revealed he expects Shved to make a bigger impact once he adaps to his new surroundings.

He said: "He's a little bit frustrated, he just needs to up his tempo and his work.

"It's still, again, an adaptation period for him. He's young, in a new country and doesn't speak great English. So, we know we've got a good player on our hands and we'll see more of him as the season progresses."

Hopefully he’s the only casualty this weekend...

Says a lot when your biggest worry about an international break is who and how many of your key players will return injured...

Hate it for that ! Even worse when it’s pointless friendlies or pointless far-eastern tournaments.
