    Would Roy Makaay be a good signing or Celtic ?

    According To Sporting Life:

    Roy Makaay will seek a transfer away from Bayern Munich if they complete the signing of Miroslav Klose this summer.

    Yes . Champions League experience and would easily hit 20 SPL goals . Quality signing

    33 years old, We have two hitmen already (jan and killen). We have to many strikers without including his high wage demands.

    No doubt.

    VoH, Makaay, Magic, McDonald, Killen, Sheridan.

    That's good enough for me! :ynwacelti

    Depends what kind of price were talking about and what kind of wages he'd demand. Since it'd only be for a couple of years as a temporary signing I wouldn't be wanting to pay over the odd's for him. However, bar that I reckon he'd do a job for us.

    Of course.

    But the rumour are true. Makaay WILL leave Bayern, and I think Strachan could see him as a target.

    The question is, will Makaay play for Celtic?

    Surely the way to go is buy guys who have their careers ahead of them, not retirement!

    The guy is good, but if Celtic are going to pump loads of money at this signing because he is a big name then that is just chasing a player for his name rather than his worth.

    Suppose could be wrong, Larsson anyone?

    He's played against Celtic for Bayern so if the scenes he experienced then aren't enough to persuade him..:fear:

    I voted no purely because of his age. I know his experience could be key but I am kinda getting fed up with these big name, big wage big payday guys. I would much rather see someone coming to be hungry to achive things, not one who thinks he's already a star.

    The transfer fee wouldn't be big so that would lessen the blow of his wages

    i think for the short term yes, but the long term no. if we get mckaay i wood like to go for naismith, then that allow him to learn from an experienced pro and once mckaay is done, naismith will be ready to step straight in up front:50:

    'wood' comes from a tree.

    The word you are after is 'would'. And while I'm at it there is no such word as 'cood', it is 'could'.

    Since you are so good at English it shouldn't be difficult to cut out these repeated basic errors that an 8 year old 'woodent' make.:50:

    Are you serious ?

    Miller = dud

    Beattie = not good enough and injury prone

    Zurawski = doesn't break sweat

    A blind man can see we need a QUALITY striker. Goal scoring has been a BIG problem for us last season.
