As odd as it may sound, I've just watched Moneyball & im looking to catch up on some baseball.

What does the % mean in the divisional tables?

 

Percentage of games won, is it not?

 

Feliz has just undone all the good pitching by Knebel.3 run homer for the BoSox.

We had a good streak at least!

 

I catch whatever the freebie game of the day is on mlb.com. That gives me my daily fix, while tracking the scores and who is doing what around the major leagues, and with that is how Boston is going.

There is always a free game most days on the MLB network for those who are interested.

 

So the All Star break is done and now officially into the second half of the season.

BoSox a couple of games up in the lead in the AL E ahead of TB & Stinkees. Houston were definitely the surprise team of the first half, and hold an incredible 16 win lead over the AL W. Hard to see them losing such a massicve lead, the only question, can they stay this hot through the last few months of the season and push the record books?

Cleveland, Twins & KC still too close to call this far out, and the AL C could go any of those, and as it stands if any of them want to be playing post season they will need to win their division as the AL E looks like they will dominate the AL WC race also.

The NL already looking much more settled, The Nats completely in control in the NL E and the Dodgers the same in the NL W. Didn't expect the Brewers to be so far comfortable in control of the NL C ahead of the champion Cubs & SL. NL W D-Backs and Rockies look like they will be the teams to beat out for the NL WC spots.

 

Sadly the Brewers not looking so much in control of the NL central now. Their lead is down to just 2 games. Same deal as the AL central really whoever does not win the division is likely done as Arizona and Colorado already look pretty sure to be the 2 NL wildcard teams.

 

the la dodgers' record looks scary at the moment. yet I'm willing to bet they won't win the ws

 

No question the Dodgers are the best team in baseball this season. But without a doubt come playoff time they are beatable over a 5 or 7 game series. The Nationals look strong enough to maybe stop them getting to the final even.

 

First NE Pats, now the red sox. the cheating * seem to be from the same area.

 

Stealing signs though is nothing new. Every base runner who has ever stood at second base has been doing it probably since the 19th century. Nothing illegal about that. I'm sure though, with all the technology available and the coverage that MLB has, what I would be more surprised by if this was limited only to the Sox. Bosox have counter-claimed that the Stinkees have been using a dedicated camera feed for this, so...
