Just seen a goal scored in the Spanish league there by a GK in his own half. Just got me thinking about any goals Celtic have scored from similar distances (I can’t seem to think of a keeper scoring for us in play anyway). But have we ever scored a goal at CP from inside our own half?

Tierney v Killie, Maloney v Dead Huns and Naka v Dead huns are the longest shots I can remember.

Probably the type of thing we'd have already heard about if it had happened.

Moravcik scored one from about 40 yards against Hibs.

Edit: Just looked at it on YouTube, prob not quite 40yards but a cracker nonetheless.

Maloney v oldco in 2005 is definetley the longest distance strike I can remember. Although I can recall John Hartson in either his 1st or 2nd season with us scoring a big crazy lob against somebody....Dundee United...St Johnstone or somebody. Not sure if it was further out than Maloney's though....what a goal that was....I remember going absolutely mental when that went in....nearly burst the net.

Marc Crosas scored a belter against St Mirren when we did them 7-0, would of only been 25 yard or so but still a good long shot

The guy that scored for kilmarnock last season might have been the furthest at CP even though it was against us, Tierney's this season and one Mulgrew scored a few years back were pretty far away.

The Killie boy scoring from next to the main stand dug out is probably the longest strike I've seen at Celtic Park. When De Vries had a 0% save ratio..

Is my memory deceiving me or did Stephane Mahe score or almost score from the halfway line at Easter Road by accident? The for bed..

    Jesus that's some distance.

The other cool thing about that video is seeing old school standing railings. A rare sight now.

I will never forget that goal. Nakamura was a genius. We were so lucky to have a player of his quality and he was an absolute steal for the £3 million or so we got him for.

He might not have the legs anymore but it would be nice to have someone else that could take a good setpiece apart from Griff :giggle1:

Coulibaly? Thought we might have made a move for him. Seemed to know where the goal was and seemed quite quick. Ended up getting Killie £1m and then left the Egyptian team half a season later claiming his family (who are Christian) couldnt practice their faith etc. Sounded pretty crazy.

Mulgrew hit one from a fair distance against Dunfermline Athletic.
