I always had confidence in Henderson. Been beating the drum on here for him the last two years.

Same. The potential was always there for all to see for the last couple seasons. Seems to have taken well to the loans and come back with a lot of confidence in himself.
His vision and passing for his age is superb, he always looking for the ball and looks for the pass that is going to create space and an opportunity.
Why a select minority seem to want to play his current ability down is beyond me. At 20, he is 4/5 years behind Armstrong in development, but he certainly is not that 4 years away from being as good as him.

Would love to see a midfield three of brown, Armstrong and Henderson with Sinclair, roberts and Dembele leading a line. Think the pace, passing and movement off the ball would destroy teams.
Sevco wouldn't know what to do with that lot attacking them, with senderos and hill at the back - geez!!!

I thought he was very good again.

I think he'll make it with us, has a bit of everything. Give him a run of games and he will be flying.

I agree mate, thought he was excellent today but with Rogic and Armstrong looking back to full fitness I don't think he will get a run of games, from the start anyway.

Who knows what he'll become but you could tell he was a cut above even before he got his first appearance under Lennon. Been saying this for years, he's got something special.

Only thing I will say is I'm not sure how his speed/mobility will hinder him as he can look a bit cumbersome. His other traits will hopefully compensate.

Either way delighted he's now getting a chance. Folk writing him off now of all times is mind-boggling. But not surprising given how some treat our own prospects.

Had a good game, and took his goal well. You can see he's a confident boy, always wants the ball and is willing to try things others wouldn't.

Interested to see if people still think McGregor is better. Henderson reads the game so well, great vision and the passing ability to match. Also the fact he can play further up pitch or deeper which is very handy.

Ironically enough the problem at the minute is that everyone, bar GMS, is taking their chance when it comes along. Brendan would need to play about 16 players based on current form!

Looked very promising every chance he's had so far. Definitely think he is already a better player than mcgregor and should get in the team before him when others are injured (Armstrong, rogic, Brown)

As much as I constantly find myself changing my mind about him, McGregor is a handy wee player to have.

He has energy, decent pace and is technically very sound. Not to mention the fact he has the potential to get you 8-10 goals a season.

Henderson is technically very accomplished as well but is a bit more slow in his tempo and able to operate in a more deep lying role. Both are really good options. Quite interesting to see what Rodgers can make of them. More so Henderson for me personally.

Liam Henderson has revealed that he is determined to stay and fight for his chance at Celtic.

The 20-year-old midfielder has had loan spells at Rosenberg and Hibs but now wants to remain in Glasgow to fight for his place.

The closure of the transfer window last Tuesday night means that Henderson will be going nowhere in any case until the end of the season at the least – not that he wants to go anywhere other than Celtic.

“I feel that I have done my apprenticeships,” said Henderson. “I have been out on loan in Norway and through in Edinburgh last season.

“I loved my time at both clubs and it was great experience for me. But I believe I came back to Celtic following those months away a better, more mature player.

“There is no doubt that the chance to go away and play every week really benefitted me, but I always had it in my head that I wanted to come back to Celtic and give everything I have got to get into the team.

“I don’t even know if there was a chance for me to go out on loan last month. I just said that I wanted to remain here and give it my very best shot to get some game time.”

And the Scotland under-21 internationalist has insisted that he has never wondered if the grass was greener elsewhere.

"It has never crossed my mind to leave permanently," he said.

"Neil Lennon, Johan Mjallby and Garry Parker gave me my debut and that seems like a long time ago now!

"But I feel that I have been fortunate to get a lot of game time elsewhere but now my aim is to show the manager what I can bring here.

"He told me during the window last month that he didn't want me to go out on loan again and it is good because I know what I have to do here.

"It is a case of getting my head down and just keeping at it and working hard every day. It is a great club to be at and you want to go and give it your best."

Henderson netted a fine opening goal on Sunday afternoon as Celtic beat St Johnstone 5-2 and the midfielder allowed himself some satisfaction with the goal.

"It was my left-foot so I was pretty pleased with it," he smiled. "I was pretty pleased with it and I thoroughly enjoyed being out there.

"St Johnstone are a good team and they made it tough for us but we managed to step up a gear in the second period.

"There isn't much left to say about Moussa [Dembele] - he is just a quality striker and we are absolutely delighted to have him here playing for us."

It's funny that McGregor and Henderson are turning out to be the players we wanted Allan and Christie to be. Brendan has really brought out the best in them both.

If we had a Pierre VH or JVH in our side Hendersons crossing from play or set pieces would be lethal.

Of all the players after Big Pierre I can't believe you went for JVoH. Imagine Henrik, Sutton and Hartson?

I think the two I mentioned were better with the head than those 3.
